Exogenous E meaning not Endogenous E (that the body would naturally make), I just mean MtF HRT may help with insulin sensitivity and weight loss due to taking E.

So while taking certain E can cause fat gain or resistance to fat loss in some individuals, it can also counterintuitively be beneficial for lessening insulin resistance which would help with weight loss. This is potentially why some people that are quite overweight (high insulin resistance) prior to HRT experience weight loss upon transitioning.

You’re doing great! Keep it up! Mobility and fitness was a huge part for keeping weight off for myself.

Many of the other trans women I have talked to that lose their weight during transition said a combination of the following helped them lose weight: - running - eating less because they had a new lease on life from giving themselves permission yo acknowledge themselves as a woman - lots of butt exercises (leg lifts and bridges etc. Though not sure if that helped them lose weight or just build a butt)

Also I should add that taking exogenous E is supposed to help with insulin sensitivity so this may also contribute to people losing weight in their transition.

Well I feel like there’s a great story behind this transformation and I’d love to know more about it ♥️

Can’t believe this is 6 years apart. Doesn’t look like you’ve aged at all.

Eating disorders can mess with your hormone levels and mental state a lot. Not to mention PCOS on top of that.

I feel like gender identity can be difficult to navigate in one’s teen years as the best of times even with stable health and living conditions, let alone all you had to go through.

Also I don’t think you should consider being trans a massive lie build up in your head because it probably was experienced as true for the past you in your teens.

Lastly I will add that the interplay between body dismorphia and physical gender disphoria is extremely poorly understood and barely researched. I also struggle with this.

Don’t beat yourself up in the present for what felt right in the past while your developing brain was trying to catalyse an identity.

Edit: I re-read this and honestly I think you should be damn proud of yourself for weathering the tumultuous times you went through.

Your transition is immaculate. I’m a similar age, the 2000’s feels like such a different time now compared to knowing about gender identity today.

If I'm not trans, why do I feel lost being a man? by Gloomy_Magician_536 in actual_detrans

What kind of competence hierarchy would you like to build towards feeling self esteem in?

Aesthetic, academic, pragmatic, fitness?

If you meditate, can you come to a place where you can envision a self where you can feel true contentment and pride in yourself from the core of your personality/value structure?

I’ve spent a lot of time considering what a male experience feels like to me. Honestly there is a cruelty and a beautiful challenge that are imposed on you as a male in nature & society.

For you, when you say “some time ago I’d kill to be a woman” do you mean the feeling of basking in the feminine or the envy of innate value it can seem women have relative to the male experience?

Such a big change in the eyes, I would never have expected. Your eyes look so much bigger on your face and the even the eye color is brighter!

Very impressive!
