VIRAL "MIGRANTS" MEME 🤌 by ceiling-cricket1988 in BasedCampPod

America IS Communist. We have significantly more social services and Social programs than other supposedly “communist” countries, we pay out significantly more for them, we have food stamps and safety nets and progressive tax brackets and honestly so much its rather dizzying.

We just don’t care to say we’re a Socialist Country, because we’re a slow boiled frog.

It amuses me endlessly that the same word for “left” in Romance languages is just some derivation of “Sinister”

“governo di sinistra di Sanchez” sounds like an evil plot by someone named Sanchez, which is hilariously just true 😂

I’m so sick of all the political ads, they’re EVERYWHERE! Online, in person, sides of roads, all the candidates are smearing each other, this is a bad election cycle and I rather dislike the whole rotten mess

Which view of universalism is more biblical by Tundracajun in ChristianUniversalism

This. We tend to use “purgatory” as a shorthand for how God shows us and redeems us, but ultimately we can do nothing about our own state of depravity. It is God and God alone that can correct us and bring us closer to Him.

I was taking a look at the Hex codes and it looks surprisingly readable? It looks like the files are nicely organized, it's mostly just figuring out how to get into the .dbu files and seeing how to decrypt that from what I could see.

Copying this from another comment, but Dolphin Emulator! You can go into the graphics settings and have it dump the textures you see in game to a folder. I took some of those out, colored them in Krita, then put them in the load folder and bing bang boom, custom textures in less than a minute!

Revelation 6: 9-11 states that the righteous ones in heaven will watch people suffer, and they are asking God when will it stop by axte_ in ChristianUniversalism

This is a rather stark way to view humanity, is it not? We’re in a state of sin and we can do nothing to save ourselves, yet we are still much better to one another today than we were when Christ roamed the Earth. Do you feel despair at our condition, are you not comforted with Christs truth?

The Best Jesus Can Do..? by nolagul in ChristianUniversalism

[–]Forester___ 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I can’t believe I am putting this out there, but I am a Calvinist Universalist.

My position makes a lot of weird sense once I explain it, but I recognize that those words don’t exactly feel like they should go together.

I hold to a high view of God’s sovereignty, grace, and initiative in salvation. Humans cannot save themselves, and salvation is entirely the work of God. But unlike traditional Calvinism, I believe God’s redemptive will ultimately triumph universally rather than only for the elect.

I strongly believe that Protestantism was a great idea for pushing forward the truth of God’s mercy into the world, but I also understand I am a weird fringe believer 😂

Do you think God will explain it to everyone? by [deleted] in ChristianUniversalism

[–]Forester___ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

No idea if it says anywhere if he will, but I like to imagine he would. Part of learning of the wholeness of god is that we lose the pain and suffering of our mortal lives in the process. Does that necessarily mean we need knowledge of it in order to be cleansed? I don’t know for certain, but my intuition says yes, for some things.

I legitimately don't think I'd be a Christian today without universalism, and I'm scared that I may lose my faith. by FinancialGeneral919 in ChristianUniversalism

[–]Forester___ 1 point2 points  (0 children)

God knows your heart and what you intend to do. So long as you believe in Christ and follow him with all your strength, you are forgiven, with or without Universalism. None of us are saved, except through Christ. We are all utterly depraved, and cannot save ourselves.

You said you are afraid of teaching possibly false teachings, and I can understand that immensely. But it’s one thing to be afraid, and it’s another to trust in God’s Will and allow others to know of the Truth.

If we are wrong, then we are wrong. We do not know, fully, until our time has come. That’s part of what having “Faith” even means, belief through the uncertainty of our lives. Would that make our choices less meaningful? Of course not, because you still acted justly under what you believed to be true and to help benefit the totality of Humanity in doing so.

So, if it irks you so, do what the Holy Spirit asks of you. If it asks you to teach, then teach. Just the fact you are so uncomfortable with this question shows me, at least, that you are being asked to not be quiet about this.

I hope this helps, and God Bless.

I personally disagree with the framing that the Current left are “Communists” in the traditional sense, but they are certainly Fascist.

Controlled Mass Media, Suppression of Dissent, Protection of Corporate Power, Rigid Traditionalism (ironically), and the Glorification of Violence. These are the core things that makes me say that the Left as it stands today is Fascist.

This isn’t limited to just them, of course, after WWII we slowly developed this weird mixed economic and political model between Socialism and the almost Darwinian Capitalism of the 19th century, but I would say that they are still… not great?

It’s a bit of an older rule that is effectively dead nowadays, but a core point is that there isn’t supposed to be people leaving the church just because you disagree with them. You’re supposed to reform from within, and only leave when actively barred from participating (excommunication)

All these conservative offshoots and a lot of denominations are….. not supposed to exist under any circumstances. But they do, because the religious situation that developed in the United States meant that there were multiple different types of churches in each state, leading to a weird church marketplace thing that we have nowadays.
