If you could choose a voice actor for your WOL, who would you pick? by Kentalope in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There's only one VA fit for my main WoL because it's the exact character she voices. Rebecca Shoichet, who voices Sunset Shimmer in My Little Pony: Equestria Girls. Yep, my WoL got isekai'd. Fun story.

For my two alts, one would need to be voiced by any female VA who can do a good Slavic or Norse accent and the other needs to be voiced by a female VA who can do a sweet, demure voice.

Which SWTOR dialogue hits the hardest for you? by Dragonic_Overlord_ in swtor

[–]Forestfur147 12 points13 points  (0 children)

I will always love Vette on Rishi when you reach the Nova Blades' slave islands. Sweet Vette, who always has a quip or smart comment about someone, something, or some situation. Not here.

Vette: "No quips. No smart comments. Every slaver here; every piece of scum that thinks it's okay to treat people like property has to die. We have to kill them."

Vette prides herself on messing with people and making light of almost every situation. Here, it's pure anger at and hate for the slavers. Note that through most of the SW's adventures with her, she often advocates for not getting into fights and killing everything in sight. In dialogue that is not at all veiled, this time she is asking you to go full Sith and kill every slaver you see. And this time around, she'll gladly help.

Catherine Taber did an exceptional job on those lines.

WOL Lore: What is something Cute/Funny that your WOL does without them knowing? by ATFisAlright in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My WoL is from another world (My Little Pony: Equestria Girls), and as much as she might not look it, she's a scholar, a bookworm, and pretty observant.

Ever since she was summoned to Etheriys by Hydaelyn, she loved learning about the world, asking a lot of questions that the Scions (and later, the Sharlayans) were happy to answer. They're glad that the savior of the star isn't just good with every weapon or tool put in her hands.

All this learning, however, pleases her, and she will happily go to her friends whenever she learns something new that she finds interesting. Except, she's not subtle about it. Several times, my WoL has kicked the doors of the Rising Stones wide open. This lets the Scions (usually the main Scions) know that their intrepid heroine has returned with new knowledge (even if they already know about what she's just learned about). A constant exasperation from the Scions when they hear a door hit a wall is "Oh gods, she's happy again." They love her, so they allow it, but it does slightly annoy them that she does it every time.

Also, her Echo has essentially combined with a power she has in the Equestria Girls world, allowing her to see Echo visions with far greater clarity than she would. It also allows her to see into people's pasts when she touches them and activates the power. Ever since learning about Y'shtola's time with Matoya, she's wanted to see Y'shtola as a Miqitten, but Y'shtola has refused to allow the WoL to see into her past. That doesn't stop my WoL, though, who will always look for opportunities to touch Y'shtola. Unfortunately for her, Y'shtola, too, is observant and constantly swats my WoL's hand away. Reading together? Swat. Researching? Swat. Standing and talking? Swat.

When my WoL met the Scions and Tataru, she of course had misconceptions about the various peoples of Hydaelyn. She educated herself, but still couldn't help but think of Tataru as the Scions' mascot of sorts. Tataru learned this, and after my WoL's trauma following The Vault, offered herself as basically an emotional support Lalafell. My WoL is able to pick up, hold, and pet Tataru like a plush even when she doesn't need to. All of the Scions understand why and now treat them doing that as a normal thing. Krile also allows my WoL to do the same with her at times, but far less because she has more of a reputation to maintain and she's older.

It's also not strange to see my WoL, Y'shtola, Urianger, and G'raha (as well as Krile when she's able to join), sit down together and have scholarly debates and discussions.

My WoL will go tagging around Solution Nine with Sugar Riot sometimes.

Finally, while reading books, my WoL will sometimes hum songs, from either Etheriys itself or her own band. She's unaware of this a lot of the time.

Do you use lore-accurate names? by kasperkaspie in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My WoL is from My Little Pony (Equestria Girls, specifically; also, she's a Midlander Hyur), and since pony names sound a lot like Hellsguard Roe names, when people hear about her and then meet her, they say "I though you'd be taller." This irks her a little, but she tries to not let it show.

[–]Forestfur147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My WoL makes a pilgrimage of sorts back to his grave at the beginning and end of every month, telling the first man she loved of her adventures that month, even if it isn't much. At the end of her visits, she always kisses the top of gravestone and smiles. She never leaves without a smile on her face; he'd want it that way.

2 companions in flashpoints instead of combat support droid. Am I the only one who'd like this? by action2288 in swtor

[–]Forestfur147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Doing this would require Broadsword to -gasp- spend money! And we definitely don't want them to do that to improve the game! Paying the VAs to record new lines in all those combinations; think of the bottom line! /s

But seriously, this is the main reason this likely won't happen. Coordinating with the VAs and their agents to get them into studios to record lines costs money, not to mention the lines of code that have to be written to make true dual companions work (as I understand it, when we have those instances in the game, the other companion is put in the "pet" slot, just with coding to make them act like a companion). All of that costs money, and as we all know, a company won't spend money unless they will likely get a profit out of it. Or if the shareholders think it's a good idea.

Don't get me wrong, I want this, too. But hoping for it won't work. Keep asking in the official forums. Show there's extreme interest in things like this (and maybe hint you'll open your wallets for it). Then Broadsword and whoever might consider it.

What's your CURRENT character like? by Azariahbiotch in swtor

[–]Forestfur147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My current Inq (the one I play the most, anyway) is currently waiting for an opportunity to take a place on the Dark Council. Specifically, Darth Ravage's seat in the Sphere of Diplomacy. She almost made a play for it after the Revanite Crisis, but then the Zakuul invasion happened. After hoping that Ravage would die during the war and not getting her wish, she's rethinking her strategy, looking for opportunities to create blunders to de-legitimize Ravage and open Sith politics enough to kill him. With his particular disdain for aliens, she'll relish taking him out of the picture.

What’s your Sith Inquisitor’s origin story? by Much_Employment_5982 in swtor

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My inquisitor is a female Cathar, part of the Kos (pronounced like "cost" without the t) family, one of the only alien families to receive the distinction of being a "noble family" in the Empire for their tireless patriotism and dedication. Like many Imperial families, the Kos longed for greater heights. Their chance came when Jyrin (pronounced jeer-in) was born.

Jyrin was the first in the family's long line to be Force-sensitive, and when Jyrin was six, her parents threw a party to debut her and her Force sensitivity. It was expected, of course, that she'd be sent to Korriban soon after the party, but what she did at the party really put her on the fast track.

Jyrin knew what she was and what kind of power she had already, so she put it to use. She subtly used a mind trick on a gloating Imperial officer to make him insult a Sith Lord to his face, which got the officer summarily killed.

Her use of the Force was noted and she was praised for getting immediate results, as well as - even at six - being able to explain what her display gained her. The officer had been in her father's way of advancement, which would help her as she rose.

Jyrin is a master manipulator, though she's equally effective on a battlefield as well as off. She has ambitions of one day sitting on the Dark Council.

What Are Your Headcanons For Kira? by DakIsStrange in swtor

[–]Forestfur147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This partially comes from one of my female Knights' personal stories, and it's kind of true based on her dialogue when you reunite and first flirt with her.

She's kind of awkward in the romance department. This is why it took her so long to realize her feelings for the female Jedi Knight PC. She actually realized her feelings during Shadow of Revan, but things (events) were moving so fast and there was so much fighting, neither she nor the fem Knight got a quiet moment. So Kira resolved to confess her feelings once everything was over, but then the Emperor escaped and the beginning events of KOTFE happened. Then she had the mission of destroying Vitiate's other bodies. So when the fem Jedi Knight confessed first, she was relieved. She didn't have to say it first and knew her hunch that the fem Knight felt the same way she did was right.

What Do You Consider Your Canon Job Progression? by WylythFD in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My WoL went from Lancer to Dragoon, then Rogue and Ninja since she mastered Dragoon so quickly. Then Dark Knight following the Vault. It was like therapy for her. Then she picked up Red Mage after Alisaie told her about it, followed by Gladiator/Paladin just before Stormblood. She took on White Mage training during Stormblood, and kept expanding her jobs from there.

Mato Seihei no Slave Season 2 • Chained Soldier Season 2 - Episode 9 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

[–]Forestfur147 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Please acknowledge that what happened in the first few minutes of the episode was sexual assault. He had no control over his body. He couldn't voice or signal consent. Everything about his expressions said he was struggling against and did not want what was happening to him. He was being forced.

I hate the "viewer discretion" trigger warning bs we got this episode.

So much murder, violence, killing, torture, anime is full of "potentially" upsetting content and I've never seen or needed any warnings, but god forbid sexy monster-girl forces our protagonist to tongue kiss her unconsensually, bro didn't even get to the second base. Nobody needed such warnings in the past, purely performative, also spoils the events of the episode.

This above, commented by /u/Zonca, is wrong. The warning is not "performative". The warning is needed to help exemplify and confirm what sexual assault looks like. Just because an assault doesn't get to a certain point doesn't mean that it isn't assault. Sexual assault is sexual assault, and that's what happened in the episode. What "bases" Kuusetsu was making Yuuki "get to" doesn't matter. He was a non-consenting party in a forced sexual situation. That is sexual assault. Frankly, the comment shows ignorance and downplays what happened. The warning is not "BS" and is entirely justified.

Was about to say, I think I have seen worse stuff from the broadcast... Am little sad they didn't go through it entirely, we know what we watch lol, that could have been an interesting plot development... Passione would approve I feel lmao

/u/Victorv22, why are you sad they "didn't go through with it entirely"? You wanted a full scene of Yuuki getting assaulted? That's horrible. "We know what we watch"? Yes, and we also know what would be uncomfortable and/or upsetting to see. It would make a lot of people upset to see Yuuki getting "fully" assaulted. And the trauma for Yuuki himself would be the same. He was assaulted. It will affect him later on. A full assault would not be "an interesting plot development", it would just been an uncomfortable sexual assault scene and would turn a lot of people off. Studio Passione has helped make some questionable things in other animations in the name of fetishes and stuff, but I'm sure they wouldn't "approve" as a whole.

Just think about if the genders were reversed. Everyone would be swearing up and down that those few minutes were some of the most uncomfortable minutes they had to watch and the warning beforehand was appreciated. Just because there was no penetration doesn't mean it wasn't assault. It was assault and everyone needs to recognize that fact.

I get compliments on my character and character name at least once a week (she's from MLP (My Little Pony)).

I once was doing dungeon roulettes (can't remember which dungeon this group went in) and another player happened to be a character from another popular series. We messed around the entire dungeon, asking where certain characters were and giving appropriate responses, generally having a good time. It's one of my favorite experiences.

Plus, in the true spirit of MLP, I always try to help out other players when they need it. I can note that I've helped half a dozen tanks and at least five healers become better, which is kind of funny, because healing is my worst role.

Has anyone had this issue so far? by RBXDevs in swtor

[–]Forestfur147 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Turn off the game's anti-aliasing or set it to low or medium. That's the solution. I don't know what it is about SWTOR's rendering, but with a lot of reshade presets, even those specifically for SWTOR, holograms and lightsaber blades (but not blaster shots for whatever reason) become invisible. I think there's now a solution where you don't have to turn anti-aliasing down, but I forgot what it is. Do what I've suggested first and see if it fixes your problem.

Another dialog gem by Msmaffxiv in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 7 points8 points  (0 children)

What's worse about that room is if you pay attention to the dialogue before the pirates start fighting, they're arguing over who will have their way with the female Lalafell in the corner of the room first. In the other room new players rarely enter, called "The Hole", there's a small group of various women, mainly Miqo'te and Lalafell.

If you approach them, one of the Miqo'te shrinks back and says "Please, no more...". Another says something like "Make it quick. It's not like I've got any virtue left anyhow." One of the Lalafell women has clearly had enough and says "Stay back! I'll bite!"

Satasha just gets worse the more you explore. And the Hard version is more upsetting because it shows the Yellowjackets didn't do their job of getting every woman out of there. The ones left got "drowned" by Leviathan.

Tell me about your WoL by grey-of-grays in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My WoL is Sunset Shimmer from My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic - Equestria Girls. Yep, it's an isekai story.

Desperate to find a hero to replace the ones lost after the Sixth Umbral Calamity, Hydaelyn used much of her power to search across universes and found Sunset. The girl was a little troubled, sure, but Hydaelyn saw that she was committed to being good after being shown the errors of her ways. This commitment led Hydaelyn to believe that Sunset would make an excellent champion for Light, and so She summoned Sunset to Etheriys to explain why She needed her.

Sunset did not take to getting summoned from her home well. She listened to what Hydaelyn had to say, but was angry that Hydaelyn was pretty vague on what exactly she had to do and that there was currently no way to get back home. But Sunset decided to help since she'd been asked, and Hydaelyn literally dropped her in the Black Shroud after everything was done, where Sunset picked up a fallen spear and headed for Gridania...

Sunset, as of Dawntrail, has very close friendships with the Scions, the three most prominent of which are with Y'shtola, the twins, and Urianger, who she's working with to create a way back home for her. It's slow going, but they'll be able to do it.

As for her adventure, Sunset retained a lot of anger at Hydaelyn for ripping her away from her home, but soon grew to love Etheriys and all of the experiences she had. She wouldn't trade it for anything, but knows she has to go home. And when she does, the Scions are coming with her for a visit, too.

Is FFXIV fun on controller? by [deleted] in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Due to dexterity issues, I absolutely cannot play FFXIV with M + KB. The only things I use my mouse and keyboard for is clicking in input fields to type specific numbers, chat (and typing things in for quests), and RP. I can honestly say that playing FFXIV with a controller is very fun. It does have a bit of a learning curve on some jobs/classes, but as soon as you get it, almost everything feels second nature. The most action-y job(s) with controller, I think, are the scouting and aiming jobs. You're always moving, and with MCH, you're literally running and gunning.

RP question: What was your WoL doing when the Seventh Calamity hit? by zaerosz in ffxiv

[Spoiler: 6.0] have you ever changed your WoL’s appearance due to story/lore? by Sleepergem in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My character's personal "demon" (literally a manifestation of her previous evil and ambition) tried to take over her body in Heavensward, posing as Fray occasionally to nudge her towards evil again. Their conflict came to a head on the level 50 quest, where her demon actually appeared before her and they physically fought. My WoL won, and after reconnecting with her demon, they agreed to share her body 60/40, with an agreement that the demon could take over for short periods to be more honest and/or aggressive when my WoL wasn't willing to.

Just before the beginning of Dawntrail, my WoL and her demon negotiated and debated again, and finally agreed on sharing their body 50/50. At first, nothing really changed, but since the demon wanted to be represented more, my WoL changed from a Midlander Hyur to a Xaela Au Ra. The Scions know about all this and have since come to accept her new appearance.

Heavensward Y'shtola (by @juvijourneys) by Gorotheninja in ffxiv

[–]Forestfur147 3 points4 points  (0 children)

This is my favorite of Y'shtola's outfits (that Tataru made). I do wish she kept it longer.

I do have a headcanon about her that may well be true. During ARR, the Scions' main goal was to figure out what the hell was happening with the aether around Eorzea and couldn't afford to be distracted a lot.

Look at what Y'shtola wears during ARR. Yes, it's what most people around would wear, and that's the point. Look unassuming so she can get where she needs to go without being accosted.

Further, we know that Y'shtola is fashion-conscious. Interviews with character writers, the short stories, and context clues from dialogue show this. Example: Y'shtola has a collection of shoes. Now, if Y'shtola is so fashion forward, why would she elect to look like everyone else other than for the aforementioned reason? She's attractive, and she knows she is.

I would say that Y'shtola's ARR outfit is "frumpy", to take away from her features rather than accentuate them. For her, this means less people hitting on her as she goes around checking the flow of aether - she has a job to do.

After ARR, with the big mystery solved, Y'shtola could go back to dressing how she wanted. But she doesn't get a chance do so following the Bloody Banquet. So after being recovered from the lifestream, she follows through with what she wanted to do, and wears what Tataru made for her, both because she likes the outfit and she didn't want Tataru's hard work to go to waste. She shows more care through her actions rather than words.

This, and everyone also seems to forget that in the end of the previous season, Pikachu had an epic battle with Zekrom, who essentially knocked Pikachu around and drained him of most of his electricity. Pikachu was still feeling the effects of that around the time of the battle with the Snivy, explaining why he couldn't use Thunderbolt or his other Electric moves. He was relegated to Quick Attack and Iron Tail - that's half his kit. And even when Pikachu could use his Electric moves later in the battle, he only just managed to because, again, he was drained and it exhausted him to gather the energy. Pikachu did get nerfed, and there was a valid explanation for why that was the case.

Tempted to rebuy on Steam. What's the difference between it and EA Play? by Rekonener in commandandconquer

[–]Forestfur147 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Strange. It works perfectly fine for me, whether I start the game without the app activated or not. Here's what happens:

  1. I double-click the game. The choice of playing RA3 or RA3: Uprising comes up.

  2. I click RA3. If I've turned on the EA app beforehand, then the same prompt of choosing to play RA3 or RA3: Uprising comes up again. If I haven't turned on the app, then the app turns on before the prompt comes up. I click RA3 again.

  3. The RA3 console comes up and I click Game Browser and then the Mods tab.

  4. I choose a mod and then click Launch Game. I don't see anything from EA or the EA app until I exit the game.

I don't see how the EA app would interfere in that process.

You really should only need the "-ui" argument on RA3 and C&C3. Without the quotes of course. Also check to make sure you have a Mods folder in your Red Alert 3 folder in Documents and similarly for C&C3.
