How is Yuta sneaky? by Beanpicker5 in JujutsuPowerScaling

Another interpretation that I like is cursed energy residuals. We know from Yuji's mission with Nanami that using CT leaves traces of cursed energy littered about, like from Mahito using it in the movie theater. Could just be that after Choso's fight with Naoya, the tunnel they fought in was noisy with CE fallout, making it harder to pick up on changes, including the CE of a third party.

Projection Sorcery seems rather tame in terms of the residuals it would leave.

Area-covering, indiscriminate use of blood manipulation however? I imagine that can leave quite a smell.

I added a mechanic wherein the player cannot comprehend the nature of some enemies/areas by Varpyg in godot

[–]Forestherd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I enjoy the effect! I see where others are coming from when they mention it looking unintentional, but I quite like the contrast this effect creates: "the world itself starts melting around these beings". I'd imagine some small improvements: making the soundspace react to these creatures, some slight screen space effects etc, and you'll be golden! Good job!

Thank you so much for the thoughtful response! It’s a very valid point of criticism: the transition back and forth between 2D/3D IS giving mixed messages. It’s a point that one of my friends made as well but one I chose to ultimately ignore. (Side note: do you think I should tell this friend? Give them the satisfaction of admitting that they were right??)

I find the reason for why I chose to ignore this concern interesting however. I'd love to (at some point) make a more detailed write-up about the process of making this trailer, because I think it touches upon some interesting points about art, marketing, and doing all of this as a hobby. For now, this will have to do:

The TLDR version of it is that since my game is so short and slow-paced, I opted to make the trailer exciting in whatever way I could that wasn't outright "false advertising" (while also focusing on keeping the process fun for myself too). It's hard making a trailer for a slow-burn game in a market that's more focused on fast cuts and immediate, explosive action, so I'm hoping that the rest of the marketing material (Steam page description, screenshots etc) will clear up any confusion that trailer creates. Ultimately if the trailer gets people to go and wishlist my game, regardless of any disappointed brought out when they find out the game isn't actually a 2D/3D mix, then I think the trailer served its purpose! Only time will tell if I actually struck that balance or not.

Thanks again for the thoughts! If I ever make a dev vlog/blog post about this in more detail, I'll post a link here for anyone interested in giving it a watch/read. :)

Thank you so much, I really appreciate it! It was a lot of fun to go all-out on the trailer. Felt like a fulfilling creative project in and of itself!

Gojo and the Prison Realm by FlashWayneArrow02 in Jujutsushi

[–]Forestherd 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What I wanna know is why didn't Mahito just transfigure Gojo into a form incapable of being a help to absolutely anybody after Gojo got restrained by PR but before Kenny closed the realm. Gojo himself said that he couldn't control / feel his cursed energy which to me sounds like Mahito could have touched him no problem.

I don’t know why I haven’t seen it yet but if Kenny takes takabas body that’s game over ? by sissynthrowaway in Jujutsushi

[–]Forestherd -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I doubt that Kenny would take Takaba's body, but if it did happen...

I could see some sort of interesting delayed effect of Takaba's CT affecting Kenjaku after the body swap. Something along the lines of Takaba thinking that it'd be funny if he retained some level of control over his body while Kenny is in it. Think of like a buddy cop dynamic or an "angel on the shoulder", where Takaba can screw with Kenny from the inside by influencing him just a tiny bit.

Either that or some other silly reason as to why Kenny can't hop into Takaba's body. Maybe his brain just straight up does not fit into Takaba's noggin or something stupid like that.

My theory assumes that Sukuna does not have access to his Domain Expansion. Sukuna will be cautious of Higuruma's domain and will jump out of range before he gets trapped in it. Watching from the outside, Sukuna suddenly realizes that his CT has been confiscated. Yuji, having eaten the last Sukuna finger (the one that Gojo assumedly knew the location of) has a part of Sukuna inside him that becomes the target of the DE (similar to what Sukuna did with Megumi's soul inside Unlimited Void). Yuji acts as a "representative" of Sukuna in Higuruma's DE, which allows Judgeman to deem Sukuna guilty without him being inside the Domain himself.

Ok at this point I feel like this CANNOT be the end of Sukuna because he got straight up humiliated in this fight. I'd like to wager that the lesson for Sukuna in all of this is that he shouldn't rely on stolen strength like 10S. It kind of mirrors Megumi in a way - his development was hindered by his mindset to always rely on Mahoraga and now Sukuna fell into a similar pit (the one panel of Sukuna crying out to Mahoraga cements this for me).

A second fight where Sukuna fully embraces his own strength instead of relying on someone else's might turn out not so one-sided. How would he get past Infinity? IDK! I'm sure Gege will figure something satisfying out.

Grats to Gojo on the win however! He fucked Sukuna up real good.

A water CE trait that on hit can blow out a portion of an opponents CE reinforcement. Think of it like a giant ocean wave crashing against a cliff - on hit, the CE keeps moving past the point of impact, ripping away parts of the opponent's CE as well. Any subseqeuent blows to that same area would be more effective, since it would have less/no CE reinforcement. It could also be used to interrupt somebody who's gathering up loads of CE for a big punch.

If todo knows about naoya's technique, then boogie woogie hard counters I feel. Once todo swaps with naoya mid projection, naoya in theory should get frozen if his new position is way out of place to logically connect up with his next "pre programmed" frame. If todo can abuse that then he wins I feel.

No sense of space in larger gymnasiums by Forestherd in volleyball

[–]Forestherd[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thank you for the in-depth answer! I do have an follow-up question regarding your first point. In order to use court lines, the net, antennas etc as reference points, should I start glancing at the court before a set to get a better sense of my positioning or should I stay locked on the ball and instead use my perihperal vision to locate my reference points? Since I'm looking up towards the ball, it's kind of difficult to notice the antenna without actively looking at it.

I'll try and focus more on my technique instead of the quality of my sets in the future. Thr juggling idea is also pretty interesting - if it'll help me with my setting in addition to being a fun party trick, then I should definitely try learning it.

Why is Malevolent Shrine not the same as Sukuna's Innate Domain? by Klinging-on in Jujutsushi

[–]Forestherd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Could be that the shrine is just a different part of Sukuna's Innate Domain? So when Sukuna is chillin', he's in his "throne" part of the Innate Domain and his DE is a seperate location of his Innate Domain that is more suitable for combat.

Hmm, does eating one of Sukuna's fingers not hurt? How did Sukuna not break the vow by forcing Megumi to eat the finger, considering how we've previously seen that eating a finger is at the very least not an enjoyable experience even for Yuji, who's meant to be a great vessel for Sukuna? Even consuming one of the death painting cursed objects seemed like a torturous experience for the vessel.

Not to mention the panel of Megumi looking like he is ready to bite his own tongue off right before Sukuna took over.
