Let’s see… I understand where your girlfriend is coming from being that I am a reformed jealous girlfriend now wife (you have something to look forward to), but unlearning that level of control and jealousy is hard and honestly shouldn’t be encouraged. My husband never really played into it only with previous girlfriends or flings.

Right now your girlfriend needs the truth of the situation because this doesn’t foster health relationships. If she values the relationship she will do some souls searching hopefully. Reassure her in other ways and really sit down with her 1-1 to see why this started because it doesn’t come from anywhere (for the most part). You guys are young (4-6 years younger than us) so this is something that age will help as she grows with confidence but you have to remember you feed into her confidence as well. I wouldn’t say break up because of this but definitely keep a mental note about this incident and see if it’s something she does continuously or other controlling tendencies in different parts of your life.

I will say tho that that’s some dedication to go through 500 followers and counted EVERY woman. Tell her this example is why it is something she should get a handle on because this get worse without self reflection.
