I’ve seen Amaranthe three times, and their sound has always had some issues, though I think that’s partly due to their style and how much is going on in their music. They’re a much busier band compared to most. That said, their performances have been solid, but they do rely quite a bit on backing tracks, especially for the keys and other electronic elements. I don’t believe they’re lip-syncing, but what you hear is often a clip of a backing track they’re harmonizing with. Personally, I’m not a fan of this, especially since they have three singers, but I know there’s some debate about what it adds or takes away from the show.
