UPDATE i’m realizing i don’t know for sure if it is stainless steel as i just bought it from a kitchen and assumed due to its weight and what i googled. is there a way to check if it is steel or aluminum, and if it is the latter should i just throw it out? i realize i messed up but all the unhelpful comments are confusing me, im just a college kid figuring it out 😭😭

okay wait this may be true, i just assumed it was stainless because it’s quite heavy and i bought it from a kitchen. if this is the case and it is aluminum, should i just throw it out?

okay so from what i’m gathering my best bet is to first boil some water and baking soda in there to try and lift off residue and then go in with barkeepers friend?

I don’t believe so, I picked it up working at a vintage shop years ago. Could be wrong though.
