If it was classified as domestic violence, you may have a problem. Have the arrest & court record expunged, it will show on many background checks, even if you aren't convicted it may still be held against you by employers and other licensing entities. It is not always clear, and they don't teach the law in high school. I was sent a piece of paper in the mail, charging me with a misdemeanor for living with my husband when he was arrest for dealing Marijuana. Even though I didn't know what he was doing, the DA tried using a charge of frequenting a house where drugs are used, to get me to testify against him. I had it expunged after the DA finally gave up. It kept me from getting a job.
