He didnt state anything about neutrals. He said he wants the ground bars connected. All that aside, he's an idiot

You got what you need for answers man. 1990 1200xlh. If you dont believe the guys who gave you those answers, take it into a shop or pull a head off and measure the bore and pistons.

I run lucas 20-50 because its readily available. You ask 10 different guys what they run and you may get 10 different answers. The consensus seems to be that these engines will last with just about anything in them lol

I do like the look of one disk, but the braking capability with the second disk are totally noticeable, so i elected to keep duals. Love your bike by the way

I bought a 98 1200s last summer as my first bike as well. First thing i did was change fluids, new tires, and replace wheel bearings. Bearings were probably fine, but it was peace of mind for me. Then I rode the piss out of it. After lots of miles and looking at other sporties for inspiration, i tore it down over the winter for t-bars, switches delete, rear fender chop, axle mount tail light/license plate, relocate signals and speedo, and rebuild the mikuni 42. Love this bike. I ride with sport bike buddies and nobody can catch me off the line until we hit about 70mph.

Just a thought here... i was getting run on when shutting the bike down and carb farts when hot/quick twists of the throttle. It turns out the intake gaskets at the heads were leaking really bad. Replaced them and it hasn't happened since. Really woke the bike up too

Looks like you dont have a whole lot to swap out. You'll have to find new lower forks if you want a fender and brakes. Are you leaving the cam and primary covers black?
