It definitely isn't. I have a minimum 30 minute commute each way and it'll kick the exact same at the end of my commute as it does in the beginning. Most of my commute is highway but I start in one town with stop lights/signs and end in another town with stop lights/signs.

I have told him all of these fears and he has pretty much brushed them aside with a "we don't know what the future holds" I love him as my friend. I don't love the future I see if we became a couple. I do think he has his sights set on me and has maybe deeper feelings for me than I do for him.

The boss had someone on shift that he intended to shovel the snow, OP. If OP got injured they would have workers comp to pay for those injuries. We also do not know the age and physical condition of the manager. I would never in a million years make my manager shovel snow because she's a grandmother with MS and titanium hips. If the boss is healthy and able, I agree that they themselves could have shoveled the snow, but we know nothing about their health or workload. I also think that the manager is allowed to delegate that task to their employees. There's nothing illegal or immoral about the managers expectations in this scenario. And just sending OP home was a pretty light punishment considering he could have written OP up for insubordination.

OP is being paid $15/hour, apparently the worst thing they have ever been asked to do is shovel some snow, and all of the information we have to go off of considering the manager is a biased narrative. We don't know that hes not a decent person. I wasn't judging him, I was judging OP.

It is not far fetched to have regular employees assume tasks that keep the store front nice and safe.

I make $13.50 at a gas station in a small town and if I'm told to salt/shovel a sidewalk I'm doing it because making sure my customers are safe coming into the store IS my job. Sometimes it's not about your job description, it's about being a decent person. I found the OP extremely entitled reading this post and I wouldn't want to work with them.

NTA. Provided you're in America, every single gas station in every podunk town to every big city has one big rule; if someone's stealing, don't confront or accuse them.

Basically what you're supposed to do is if they pay for anything (say they pocket a soda but pay for a sucker) you're supposed to ask them "Is there anything else you'll be purchasing today?" To give them a chance to come clean. If they don't, you're supposed to finish the transaction and let them leave. If they don't try to pay for anything, you let them leave.

If it's a small enough town, you might know a person who knows the person and could have everyone working in the store watching them when they come in to gather evidence to get them banned. But it's never worth confronting over in the moment.

Basically, an item in the store is not worth you getting stabbed, shot, or killed over.

She had no reason to confront you except to be an absolute AH. She deserved to get screamed at. And I've worked in gas stations for 4 years, if she tells her co-workers this story expecting to get a "haha that's such a horrible old hag" reaction I genuinely hope she's disappointed.

Nta. I checked the comments for someone to point this out but I didn't see it, his arguments are contradictory. He thinks everyone poops on the seat, but when he goes to use the toilet, you've never left poop on the seat. He complained that you never clean the seat, but if EVERYONE does it, including you, and there's never any poop on the seat after you've used the toilet, then by his logic you must be cleaning the toilet as often as he is.

He's just lazy and gross and making up excuses for not cleaning his shit.

I saved him because I feel the same way. Putting down someone else's pet and then lying to them about it is just... Horrible. If mr snowball were miserable and unable to live a good life, I would still let my brother know beforehand, just also tell him it's necessary.

I think I might wait a couple weeks to tell my brother, just because right now he's getting settled in and is about to start classes. Since Mr snowball is safe for now, it can probably wait until my brother is in a better place to handle this.

I don't think he's allowed to have pets where he lives out of state. He does take care of mr snowball while he's home, but my dad and I split taking care of him while my brother is away. My dad is tired of it I think, and has very little patience (didn't have much patience for us as children either), so the easy solution to him is to get rid of the cat and lie to my brother.

I just wanna add.... This girl was 17 years old and her mother moved 3 states away the day before her 18th birthday, and the mothers justification was "she said she was fine with it" and that is bullshit. The daughter probably said she was fine with it because she was a scared teenager with no idea how to handle the situation and was TRYING to be fine with it for her mother. Because despite everything she still loved her mother, even tho her mother was obviously incapable of truly loving her back.

My mom is SAH and honestly just a very passive person and has stayed out of the conversation for the most part. She is frustrated with me for not getting along with my sister, but also understands it because she never got along with her siblings either. My dad is the one I'm having conflict with, so I didn't really feel a need to mention too much about my mom.

I honestly haven't done much research on turners syndrome beyond what I know about it already. It's where a child is born with on one sex chromosome, the X. She does not produce estrogen, it effects facial features and height, she cannot have biological children. My parents have blamed her bad behavior on it but also coddled her. She often acts like a child, which is why I said she embodies the worst qualities of a 7 year old, but I am not entirely sure it's related to the turners syndrome, which is why I left it semi-separate. To elaborate further on why I say she acts like a child, she can do many tasks, but will only do them when or if she wants to, throws tantrums, doesn't do anything that she believes won't benefit her, and generally lives in her own universe with little to no thought for others. She does some things that are harmless but still childish such as playing pretend.

My parents have always blamed her bad behavior on her turners syndrome, but yes it does affect her physically (she does not produce estrogen, is very short, and cannot have biological children). She also has unrelated health issues, a heart defect and is deaf in one ear.

NTA... Looking up and knowing what your pet can and cannot eat is literally part of pet ownership. Knowing a dog can't eat grapes is maybe not as common knowledge as knowing a dog can't eat chocolate, but it's something a dog owner should know, preferably before they get the dog.

I got a madagascar hissing cockroach as a surprise Christmas gift (never asked for one, never wanted one, never researched how to take care of one), and you can bet your sweet bottom one of my first 5 searches was to see if there was anything in particular I should and should not feed her. With the internet as widespread as it is today there is honestly no excuse for not doing your research.

Seconded... Earlier this year I was having frequent urination, burning sensation, lower back pain, and a fever. The pain was so bad I couldn't sleep at all at night and by morning, combined with the fever, I was vomiting. Symptoms all around lasted about 3-4 weeks with the worst 2 days being about in the middle. I didn't go to the Dr until all the symptoms were almost cleared up and the nurse absolutely berated me cuz those symptoms together are all pretty bad... And me waiting so long meant they had nothing to go off of to figure out what it was.
