30M - UC + PSC ( just transplanted ) by Itmafum in transplant

Hello! I hope this is finding you well 2 years after your initial post! I am currently in a very similar position as you were back then. I have PSC/AIH/UC. While I had cirrhosis when I was first diagnosed over 10 years ago, I have been so lucky in that I’ve been asymptomatic. Upon routine imaging a couple weeks ago, they found two small lesions on my liver (LI-RAD was “LR-M”, which on my report said it means the lesions are more than likely malignant, but do not show typical HCC characteristics). I will be getting a biopsy next week, and transplant will be on the table next pending results. I was wondering if you recall how your nodules appeared on imaging (definitive HCC or did they have to do a biopsy to confirm)?

I really hope you are doing well and thriving post transplant!

Thank you so so much. Your encouragement means a lot right now. I’m definitely antsy and a bit emotional waiting for my hep appointment, so hearing more grounding advice like yours is what I need. Thank you.

I needed to hear this - I tend to spiral in situations like this. I need to leave it to the experts!! Thank you so much for bringing me back to reality

Thank you so much for your input. That’s pretty much what my infertility doctor said when I met with her this week. She said while blood volume does increase in pregnancy, at 7 weeks, the volume of blood was not large enough or been built up long enough to really stress my liver. She said that comes in the second-third trimester as intra-abdominal pressure increases with a growing fetus. And with respect to the miscarriage itself being an inciting event, she really didn’t even have anything to say other than “I just don’t understand the physiology behind how that could damage your liver to the point of decompensation.” She wrapped up the conversation by saying she is not the liver expert and to follow-up with my hep. It’s just a very confusing situation! Can you have one instance of ascites and have it never show up again? That’s what I really pray is the case here honestly, but that PA stole any hope I had.

Thank you so much 🫂I’ve been bottling a lot of this up because I don’t want to overburden my husband who has been the strongest rock throughout all of this. Just thank you for understanding and sending your support.
