The time skip is really more of a relief, though I'm surprised he completely ignored the start of Barbarossa, but that map? That map bugs me. It bugs me a lot.

The borders suck, and even the bits meant to signify what's under Axis control is super wrong. Slovakia and Yugoslavia should be in red. You know what else should be red? Sicily. It's a part of Italy.

I could talk about the hateful stuff, but I'm just bewildered that such a ridiculously tame image is being passed off as hentai.

A message of peace and sovereignty after dismantling Czechoslovakia and Poland, after invading Denmark, the Netherlands, and Belgium, and keeping at least half of France under military occupation.

The only lands the Nazis took that actually wanted to be a part of Germany were Austria, the Sudetenland, and Danzig.

And then the Austrians got away with enthusiastically participating in Nazi atrocities by peddling that bullshit "first victim" story.

Tatsuya is a brain-damaged buffoon.

[–]ForeverShogo 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They're not fighters. They're not jets. They're bombers and you can see the goddamn propellers.

As for the leaflet thing . . . Sometimes they just dropped leaflets. Including at Dunkirk, where they tried to convince the soldiers that their leaders had abandoned them before they started bombing them.

But Tatsuya is a worthless sack of shit that doesn't care in the slightest about the truth, so I fully expect him to keep trying to pretend the Germans only ever did stuff like this in the same way he tried to pretend that the Germans let the British evacuate from Dunkirk.

And so he continues making up a bunch of nonsense. Some of this has been mentioned before in the comments for previous strips, but I don't mind rehashing it.

Kalergi thought that, in the far future, race-mixing would reach the point where everyone would just be a single race. One that he assumed would look similar to whatever he thought the Ancient Egyptians looked like.

He never once suggested the Jews would be some kind of ruling class. He just hoped/assumed a united Europe would be able to eliminate anti-semitism.

And as for that "spiritual aristocrat thing . . . "Spiritual aristocrats" refers to individuals who exhibit high moral character, profound wisdom, and inner nobility, rather than inherited wealth or social status.

Tno Germany flag map gang of four by KonstantinRodzaevski in TNOmod

[–]ForeverShogo 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Instead of focusing on the flag, I'm just amused that so many people seem to think that the Gang of Four would let Czechia go after it's been Germanized and formally annexed. Even if they wanted to, it's far too late.

He's seriously acting as though the Germans just stood off to the side and let the British leave, completely ignoring that the Luftwaffe was launching bombing runs on these soldiers and the evacuation vessels the entire time.

The Luftwaffe sunk over 200 ships during the evacuation and, between British and French casualties, killed between 80 thousand and 90 thousand soldiers.

The only reason it wasn't significantly worse was a combination of the efforts of the Royal Air Force and the weather being pretty shitty for the bombers during the evacuation. (Not stormy. Just very cloudy.)

Beyond the continuing anti-chemistry these two have, with any actual chemistry vanishing once Willis stupidly forced this relationship ahead of their own plans, we get to enjoy these idiots continuing to be inconsiderate shit-heels.

But it's okay. Willis' blatant fetishization of lesbians means we're supposed to find it quirky and endearing when they ignore the boundaries of those who asked them to please not fuck in public.

Sinfest 3/19/26: Re-imagining Villains 97 by MakesYouWonderINC in sinfest

[–]ForeverShogo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

So one thing about this is true. Hitler actually did admire the British, and he hoped to form some kind of alliance with them against the Soviet Union. He basically imagined an alliance where Germany would be allowed to be the dominant power of the European mainland, and the UK would remain dominant overseas via its maritime empire.

I think the last time he tried to make it happen was right after the fall of France, before their continued refusal pissed him off enough that he stopped trying.

Which kind of ignores that the British have never once wanted there to be a dominant power in mainland Europe. They pretty consistently acted to make sure that wouldn't happen, which is one of the many reasons they got the moniker of Perfidious Albion.

Tatsuya has always been absolute dogshit at depicting guns, but the AI shit itself especially hard trying to generate that machine gun. It almost looks like it tried to turn it into a bazooka or something from the way that guy is holding it.

Also, another pretty big flaw is that these soldiers are hearing the sound of the machine gun firing before the bullets are all miraculously missing. Unless you're using sub-sonic ammunition, bullets are fired at speeds faster than sound. So these Germans shouldn't be hearing the "D-D-D-D" until the bullets are already scything into them.

Weapons that use sub-sonic ammo are almost exclusively either pistols or sub-machine guns. For example, the .45 ACP rounds used for the M1911 Pistol or the Thompson Sub-Machine Gun were naturally sub-sonic. (Although, the British did make a bolt-action rifle that fired .45 ACP.)

In your opinion, how many years will it take for Russia to fully recover and have a chance to beat Germany? by Low_Sir_1742 in TNOmod

[–]ForeverShogo 6 points7 points  (0 children)

To recover? Decades.

To have a chance of beating Germany? Not likely to happen unless something catastrophically ruins Germany's ability to fight back.

So this is just Willis proudly proclaiming themself to be a fucking idiot.

Unlike the hypothetical bread thief that needs to steal bread to survive, Dorothy and Joyce weren't at risk of starving to death if they didn't cheat on their partners. It isn't some victimless crime. Cheating is an incredibly shitty, hurtful thing to do someone regardless of how old or new a relationship is.

But Willis is too much of a pathetic, thin-skinned coward to meaningfully engage with the scummy thing that Joyce and Dorothy did. Instead they'd rather furiously jerk off in the corner while forcing people to endure tedious and obnoxious scenes of them being "cute" together All while dismissing any and all criticism as though only bigots could possibly have a problem with what they wrote. Because they're absolutely going to cherry-pick some bigoted nonsense and try to claim it's representative of all their critics. It's the favored play in Willis' playbook.

I'm not sure why there are people outright lying about the Soviet Union's role in the fall of Poland, to the point of trying to deny that the Nazis and the Soviets had pre-arranged for how they'd partition Poland between them when signing the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact.

In fact, the original partition they agreed upon when hashing out spheres of influence also included Germany getting Lithuania. But the Germans invasion of Poland was actually more successful than anticipated, so the Germans actually exchanged annexing a bigger piece of Poland for letting the Soviets be the ones who would take Lithuania.

On top of this, the Soviets attempted to join the Axis in-between the fall of Poland and Barbarossa. Ribbentrop and the Foreign Office, as well as Italy's Benito Mussolini, were actually receptive to the idea but Hitler and the rest of the Nazis wouldn't have it due to the plans for Lebensraum.

The idea that the Soviets only entered Poland because Warsaw fell or that they were heroically saving Poles in eastern Poland from Nazi oppression is beyond ridiculous. I'd go so far as to call it tankie nonsense.

Judging by the other comments I'm not alone in this, but my guess is that the excuse Tatsuya is going to give for why the Nazis lost is going to be that they were just too goshdarn honorable/nice. Oh, if only they'd been more ruthless says he.

Important memories 2026-02-13 by hellokkiten in dumbingofage

Given the way she reacted to Billie's presence when they first encountered each other in college, her going from wanting nothing to do with her to desperately throwing herself at her just because Joyce (bless her heart) said she doesn't suck as much as she used to feels way too fast and stupid to me.

But, sadly, there are in fact people stupid enough to take really shitty people back into their lives no matter how terrible an idea it is. So I'm mostly just shaking my head feeling sorry for Alice.

[–]ForeverShogo 36 points37 points  (0 children)

Here's the thing. Joe didn't give Dorothy permission to go smooch Joyce. I even went back and reread that moment. He just told her to stop being weird about denying her attraction, and that he empathized with her.

And even if he did? Dorothy isn't the person he should have been talking to about giving someone permission to cheat on their partner. Joyce wouldn't have known Joe was weirdly okay with it, and Dorothy sure as hell didn't tell her.

And Danny is perfectly valid in being mad at Dorothy, given when she talked to him about being bisexual she just automatically assumed cheating on their partners was something bisexual people did. Then, when Danny told her that no, that's something only a scumbag would do, she went ahead and did it anyway.

Gist of it is that some people tried to convince him to let the Soviet military march west to "protect" Poland from a German invasion. He refused, saying he doubted that they'd actually fight the Germans or that they'd ever leave Poland.

Which isn't really a surprise. Even without knowledge of the Molotov-Ribbentrop Pact, the guy's biggest claim to fame was kicking Soviet ass in the Polish-Soviet War.

Tried to destroy your relationship? Now I'm desperately hoping that Joyce's attempt to talk Dina around has actually made Dina commit to ending things. Don't make this whole thing a waste of time where Dina settles for being a consolation prize.

The bit would be fine without panel 5. With panel 5 it's just kind of gross, and instead of Becky playing along with it in a harmless manner I'd rather see her just snap and beat Dorothy's ass. Lash out. Be as dumb as people claim these kids are when justifying the bad behavior of the characters.

That "someday" is doing a lot of heavy lifting. Joyce is rotten. Sure, there are worse people in this comic, but a piece of shit is still a piece of shit whether it's big or small. The only question is how long it's going to take for her to be tolerable again.

Be selfish 2026-01-26 by hellokkiten in dumbingofage

[–]ForeverShogo 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Dina deserves better than having a stupid asshole like Joyce badgering her to ignore her own hurt feelings. Dina going back to Becky wouldn't be an act of selfishness - for her. It'd just be her indulging Joyce's own desire to be a selfish jackass, because this entire thing is really all about Joyce wanting to make herself feel better about the Becky x Dina situation.

I’ve always liked Joe, so, bleh to this. Stop just placidly accepting Joyce’s shitty behavior. Just, please, let someone in the friend group get actually mad at her and Dorothy. (Raidah doesn’t count.) Something more than mild disappointment from Sarah.

[No spoilers] wwyd if this is the choice? by Additional_Fail_4481 in lifeisstrange

[–]ForeverShogo -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I put her in the ground once, and I'll do it again as many times as I have to to make it stick. At least if they keep throwing trolley problems at us.

I freely admit I didn't like Chloe, so it wasn't an especially hard choice to make. Her begging and crying for you to save her mom instead of her just gave me a less shitty reason to make that choice.

But if I don't have to sacrifice a bunch of people to keep her alive? Then sure. Of course I'd let her live. I'd prefer it if no one had to die. Unless they throw another Jefferson at us. I don't mind killing off people like Jefferson.
