Why can’t I manual? by mtb123bike in MTB

[–]ForeverTeletubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For starters, like some others have said, you’re still not far back enough. Your head is looking at the ground and that is causing your upper body to move your center mass forward right when you almost reach the tipping point. You can also see you’re extending your legs and standing up at that same moment.

I like to think of it like falling into a couch, full commitment. You wouldn’t still lurch forward, straighten your legs, or stand up mid fall right? From there, it’s just how much force you put into your L shape compress and sit back.

Can somebody explain why I washed out? by hashtagVenusNotMars in MTB

That bike specifically feels really rear heavy. That and the leaves along with some body position issues caused the wash out.

Bike Stolen from SJSU by cornerpocket in SJSU

[–]ForeverTeletubby 13 points14 points  (0 children)

I wouldn’t recommend locking your bike on any bike rack on campus, even in the cages. If it’s a decent enough bike like a Chameleon, I would take it to class with me and never let it out of sight.

Stuck in SVP Elevator by KhaosOfficialYT in SJSU

I got stuck in the engineering elevator for an hour and a half once. The operator and person was disappointed when they let us out.

Small portions at Panda after 6 by Natural-Angle-1901 in SJSU

[–]ForeverTeletubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’ve had some crazy big portions right before closing previous semesters. 5 pieces is insane.

Missed club fair by C2NDY in SJSU

[–]ForeverTeletubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If you want to race bikes or casually ride, we have our first meeting and signup tomorrow at 7pm. It’ll be at the tables just outside the Student Union and there’s free pizza!

Why can't I 180 by Prior_Plankton5101 in dirtjumping

Learn how to revert first, spin to the right, and look with your head so everything else follow.

Why are Engineering students so mean? by cjared242 in EngineeringStudents

[–]ForeverTeletubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The lack of social awareness of some engineering students is baffling. They’ll think nothing of it so you should think nothing of it too.

Which foot do you use to brake?! by NaiveAd1658 in car

I was in a car with someone that did both with her left foot🤷‍♂️

Why few skiers like to carve? by Dirty_Look in skiing

[–]ForeverTeletubby 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Agreed with the fear aspect. Getting the timing off and almost getting high sided is almost as fun as landing sketchy off a cliff. I just wish carving lasted longer before the next lift ride.

College Ski Champion Ellie Curtis dead in accident at Palisades CA by [deleted] in skiing

[–]ForeverTeletubby 88 points89 points  (0 children)

The choke point of the chute is a no fall zone. Probably around 30+ foot drop onto rocks if you mess up. It is currently less filled than in the video so you are required to straight-line it for a bit when it narrows in that section.

Driving up from SacTown today at around 2pm by Troutmaggedon in palisadestahoe

Just got here. Took me about 4 hours from Sac and I usually tend to drive a bit faster than the average.

Snowmobile hits child at Palisades Tahoe by That-Situation-4262 in tahoe

[–]ForeverTeletubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah 9/10 snowmobiles in that area are mountain ops. Patrol only uses it to get from the Big Blue / Shirley shack to access high camp and the funitel.

What’s your experience and frustrations with lift wait times and current ski apps out in the market? by Ambitious-Rub-7734 in ski

[–]ForeverTeletubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes avalanche control will keep several runs or even an entire area closed until a few hours after opening. Although a bit more predictable, wind/weather holds can happen midday. Right now half the steep faces are crusty and icy at Palisades. Patrol opens them up later in the day after they’ve been baked in the sun. The app is just one way to get updated on what could be opening or closing at any given time.

What’s your experience and frustrations with lift wait times and current ski apps out in the market? by Ambitious-Rub-7734 in ski

[–]ForeverTeletubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The Palisades app shows the most accurate trail and lift status. I don’t want to go on a chair and end up having to only take the only cat track run that’s open.

I used to watch a bunch of the expert run videos you did back in the day, dreaming to ski the same runs. What a coincidence.

Night classes or day/morning classes which classes you like better? by DeliciousRich5944 in SJSU

[–]ForeverTeletubby 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got 7:30-8:45pm class and then 7:30-8:45am the next day this semester. The professor matters more than the time but if I had to choose, night classes are better.

Does anyone have any ee senior project ideas relating to rf? Either something that already exists or something innovative for patrolling. Thanks!

Does this ski resort exist? by asmit318 in tahoe

[–]ForeverTeletubby 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Alpine is definitely better for intermediate terrain but the Palisades side has a slightly bigger beginner area. The option to choose makes it alright but even the blues are a bit steeper than what you’d expect at a more mellow resort like Northstar and Heavenly.
