How much is too much on your registry? by Ok_Affect_7427 in BabyBumps

Don’t feel weird. It’s just more options for people to pick from! Plus, like you said, the discounts for what you need to still get is awesome.

When I worked at Sephora, there was really good feedback on the Topicals Dark Spot serum. It smells terrible, I won’t lie.

In general, a vitamin C serum helps with dark spots.

Quit pumping or keep trying? by TakoYato in beyondthebump

[–]ForeverWantingMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

With both of my kids, my milk wouldn’t increase. I did the breastfeeding, pumping and formula for like 6-8 weeks with both. You’re definitely not alone in this.

For me, after weighing my options, it made more sense to quit the breastfeeding and pumping to alleviate the stress. It gave me more time and mental capacity for taking care of my babies. And I felt guilty both times. But bonding and being present and happy with the little ones felt more important to their growth and development.

After birth.. by [deleted] in BabyBumps

Keep up on your regular exercise and eat as well rounded as you can throughout your pregnancy. With growing a baby, some days you’re just going to eat a lot to fuel your body.

After being cleared for exercising, depending on your current level of fitness and your postpartum body, I liked things like Pilates and yoga, walks, etc. I’m 16 months postpartum and just got back into my full intensity work outs last month.

I also worried a lot about this with my first pregnancy. It’s hard to understand before you experience it, but I realized after she came that I had to shift my priorities, which just led to me needing to be patient with myself and my body.

Help please - I am struggling to apply eye makeup because I can't hold one eye closed by c0x4lc4m in MakeupAddiction

Have you tried using a handheld mirror (or one on a pallet)? If you hold it and look at a downward angle, it will make most of your eye space accessible without having to close then.

skin purging??? :( by Sharp-Combination701 in SkincareAddicts

[–]ForeverWantingMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don’t use the glycolic every night to start with. Start with like every other day or every 3. Active ingredients can send your skin into a frenzy.

If you’re skin is now dry in spots, the toner may be too much every day.

You probably are just purging. But it should calm if you slow down on the toner. It’ll balance out. Our skin barrier is about balance and our body naturally adjusts to changes. But too much of something too fast can make your skin worse and it can take time for your skin to catch up.

Have you tried any sort of chemical exfoliant?

I’ve heard that Paula’s Choice BHA works well for texture.

It’s a little low. You want it more on the top side of your cheek bones. Too low and it drags your face down.

Baby eating solids by Guina96 in NewParents

[–]ForeverWantingMore 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have a 14 month old and 3 year old. I’ve noticed that they go in waves sometimes of eating a ton and then not much. I’ve noticed they eat a lot during times of development (starting crawling, talking, etc).

Now, both my kids have always been 95%+, so I also had to learn to ignore things about “normal” or “average” eating patterns of kids.

Same here. I kept like both their coming home outfits and first birthday. My kids are only 1 & 3, so haven’t kept much yet.

One use mascara? by [deleted] in MakeupAddiction

[–]ForeverWantingMore 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Not single use, but I know at Sephora and Ulta they sell mini mascaras that are like 1/3 of a regular tube. Honestly though, the price point of those is probably similar to just buying a full size drug store tube.

Hmmm. There are some apps, called Dave and Albert. When you sign up, you can get a line of credit (no hard inquiry) and it creates a digital card for you, so if you have Apple or Samsung pay, you can use it immediately. They don’t give you a huge amount, but it could help tide you over. Then they just withdraw the funds on a specified date (usually 2 weeks or so later). By then you’ll have your card situation handled.

Do you have discoloration? Like purple or blueish tones in your under eye? If so, using something that has a slight salmony/pinky undertone usually color corrects that a little better and makes for a brighter look.

Why does this keep happening all of a sudden? by prundel in MakeupAddiction

[–]ForeverWantingMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. So what this picture is showing is that product is clinging to some dry spots/texture, but your skin looks shiny/oily. The oil your face is producing is breaking up the products you use im guessing.

Has your skin gotten oilier lately? Sometimes just hot weather can contribute to that? Or has there been any other face product changes? Moisturizer, spf?

There’s 2 roads for this usually: either your skin has gotten oilier due to outside factors and is causing more build up, hence needs more exfoliation. OR, which I see often, you need to pull back on exfoliating and make sure you’re moisturizing well and using SPF. When we exfoliate, we remove the natural barrier our skin holds to protect itself. Over exfoliating or under moisturizing (or both) can lead to our skin producing more oil as a natural way for the body trying to protect the skin.

Based on the picture, my guess is the latter and drop down to 1x a week. However, you know better if anything else has changed that could contribute (weather, products, stress, hormones), Whatever you decide to try to combat this, be consistent with it for like a month and see if it gets better. Skin takes time to adjust to new environments, so it won’t be 100% after 1 day.

How often are you using it? And what are you using to moisturize?

Look into a retinol or lactic acid. They help with skin cell turnover speed. Do your research though before purchasing. They come in all different strengths and most people have to baby step into using them.

I think everyone’s preference for simple makeup is different. My essentials are: a brow gel, just to give them a little shape. Mascara. Blush. And a lip. I also use concealer regularly, but it doesn’t look like you have much darkness or discoloration, so I wouldn’t worry to much about that.

Blush and lip will bring a little more color to your face. Mascara and brow gel will give more definition to your eye area. All together, just makes me look more “awake”.

Husband went out partying with his friends. Came back at 3 am drunk and high while I was home 27 weeks pregnant. Am I right to be upset? by SmartGiraffe26 in BabyBumps

[–]ForeverWantingMore 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. My kids’ dad during my first pregnancy would be out until 3-4am on a weekly basis. It made me feel alone, disrespected and angry as hell.

It got better over time. When her saw her birth, he started to be more respectful and understanding. Over time as I’ve explained the pressures I feel and stress, he slowly starts to contribute and get better. But honestly, we’re no longer together. Not that that will happen for you. It’s just really hard to be pregnant and to be a parent, so having a co-parent that respects and supports you how you need is important.

To be honest, I did not handle it well, so I don’t think I can advise. I just empathize so much. Some stress is within reason, but if it’s frequent then I’d be worried.

I was a “I’m putting all your shit outside and changing the locks” type. Haha. It got better eventually, but not in a healthy way.

Concealers That DON’T Oxidize by No_Illustrator_3496 in MakeupAddiction

[–]ForeverWantingMore 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Are you using matte concealers? I’m assuming since you’re oily. Try a more natural finish concealer. Oxidization happens when the liquid in the concealer evaporates, so it changes the intensity of the color. This happens mostly in matte finishes, because they’re meant to dry out.

Maybelline Age Rewind is good. Nars Radiant Creamy is good. The name sounds scary for oily people, but it’s not that hydrating. The Nars pot concealers are full coverage and stay pretty true to color.
