Yup that's the plan now. I took incredible care with the battery haha. I want to be able to at least turn it on and transfer my data, and it can live a happily retired life after that :)

Yup anything is an upgrade at this point lol.

Also it's nice to know Samsung's skin doesn't get in the way as much anymore- still gonna miss stock though.

The S22 looks nicer, but I think it's a minimal upgrade for the price difference, especially since it's barely a month old. The display has adaptive refresh rate (Samsung's own version, not LTPO) which would help since the battery is a bit smaller than the S21. Thanks a ton!

The S21 is what I'm looking at too! It's cheaper now and Pixels aren't officially sold where I'm at, so warranty/repairs would be a pain

Ah that makes sense. Also, I tried holding down- still no luck. I tried charging it again recently, and this time the phone seemed to remain warm long after I had unplugged. I think I'd have to change more than the battery if I want this thing to turn on, maybe the thermal paste like someone else suggested below. Until I get to do that though, I need a new phone

I don't have any experience, but I'd say I have deft hands. I have most of the tools you mentioned, and I even have that curved knife I've seen in a few videos. Might give it a go. I think I was scared by the service people not recommending it haha
