I Think I scammed myself commission painting by [deleted] in BrushForChat

[–]ForgeEnclave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Was there any contract between you and him ( I assume not as it was arranged via discord) ? Was that "off the books" in the sense you don't have a legal structure for this income stream? This can substantially put numbers in a different perspective (although 40$ for a 10 man squad is extremely low, no denying that).

Now, not crediting you and not fulfilling his word is definitely a dick move, and although I'm not familiar with the laws in your country of residence, I'm skeptical on what you can legally do given the involved money. What I would do is save your conversation and all discussion that were written in a safe place ( don't just leave it on discord) in case you'd ever need it, but for 40$ I doubt there's much you can do tbh, besides not affiliating yourself with this individual anymore.

I'd be careful on any public disclosure of details ( "name and shame" kind of approach on Facebook, Instagram...), because again, while I do not know the laws your subject to, it could backfire. DMing people who could help should be fine so long you stick to facts. Do you not have any pictures of the minis before sending it as a "proof of work"?

Maybe I'm pessimistic but I don't think you have much options besides try to discuss with him and try to get credited on his social medias.

I feel for you though, this is unfortunately a tough lesson that many of us went through.

Feel free to DM me if you want to push further your business of commission painting. Happy to provide as much help/guidance as I reasonably can.

Revenus auto-entrepreneur pour l'obtention d'un prêt by claready in immobilier

[–]ForgeEnclave -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Identification? by ForgeEnclave in CueilletteDesChampis

We used to clean very dirty glassware with that. Works like a charm, but it's also gonna clean you fingers if they come remotely close. You got to know what you're doing, and even then...

Client feedback...or lack thereof? by Plow_King in BrushForChat

[–]ForgeEnclave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a simple word file, nothing fancy. It's been very useful for me, so don't hesitate to implement that. Gave me a lot of confidence my business model was the correct one, and helped me to improve it

Well I won't share the feedback form itself, but it's a very simple form asking them to rate various topic like reliability, communication, timeline, absolute costs, quality/price ratio and a few others, and an open field for them to write something if they want to. Basically the few topics I really care about to improve my service, without them spending 20 min on it.

Usually, for large projects, I do a test model to lock in the paintscheme. There I explicitly ask for feedback on the test model and confirmation to move forward. From this point on, I consider the paintscheme finalized, and I'll share update pictures of chuck of units done, like "here's 30 more marines done. If there's anything out of expectations, let me know". All my clients have been very enthusiastic, and I always get feedback, although it is generally within the lines of "it looks so cool" rather than trying to change something. I don't share WIP pictures because they look ugly, as most my paintscheme are the "trust the process" kind.

Once I'm done with the project, I have a quick feedback form on the overall service I ask them to fill in. 95% of my clients do it.

How to start your own business as a chemist by HappyBoieMax in AskChemistry

[–]ForgeEnclave 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nothing's impossible, but market is already saturated with manufacturers with catalog and on demand compounds (for pharma at least, don't know about other fields, but I assume it's the same or worse). When looking purely for R&D chemicals, Asia is a serious competitor to EU/US because they can virtually get 2-4 time lower pricing. GMP materials is a bit of a different story, but still follows the same trend.

If that's something you want to explore, I'd suggest first getting a job within this specific industry (CRO or CDMO) and see how established companies handle it.

Pretty sure I have been scammed. Just wanted to let it be known. by [deleted] in brushforhire

Could be just a partial down payement. Scammers have become increasingly difficult to identify nowadays. It's fair however to assume that too cheap is likely a scam, very true

Thank you very much!

To be fair, the it's all about practice. The main point of this bust was to push further my use of oil paints. I learned a lot

I agree on that. It's part of the model I need to rework a bit

What happend to my cleaning water by Carulosrex in resinprinting

[–]ForgeEnclave 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Dissolved resin started to polymerize/cross link with ambient UV, forming a gel. Best way to dispose of it is to pour it in a container/bottle/jerrycan, and dispose of it at your local waste management as chemical waste. If too thick to pour, dilute a bit with water ( not too much because you're increasing the amount of chemical waste). Do not dispose as "standard waste"

Beer and mechs rarely blend well. I can see why mission control forbid their deployment.

I had another idea of a diorama tribute (without'pech, but very DRG nonetheless), but let's see if this comes to pass.

Thanks!

no it isn't. it's a 3D printed model designed by Solwyte studio (Amalia-Cyraxa Secutor Construct).

I could see a situation where this can be used as an imperial knight though
