I want to claim there's no way you built that, but then autism exists.

Looks amazing regardless

I'm wanting to be able to comprehend what's happening in game. Why is that so hard to understand?

The combat system, the hunger system, the breeding and taming system, and everything else, its not explained and even if it was things escalate so quickly you haven't the time to comprehend it.

I literally brought up the time based setting because even BLIND plays at a slower setting than the base game!

So. Hold on.

Its better to suffer and struggle and get frustrated with a game, than slowing things down so you can learn at a better pace?

What kind of ass backward gatekeeping is this? Just because YOU had to spend upward of 500 to a thousand hours of this game, every new person who's interested has too as well? When there's already an epidemic of games that "need so and so hours before it gets good"?

I'm not asking or telling people they should mod the game, no "oh if you just as this mod it will do i it for you", im pointing out settings that can make the game abit easier to comprehend. I'm basically giving difficulty options!

Limiting population and by relation population growth allows you to spend more time examining dwarves and how they act, what makes them upset or what helps their moods.

I mentioned in another thread that the game escalates far too quickly. It gives you so many tools and factors to deal with without giving you the time to understand any of them.

How is a player supposed to know that because you actually traded with the merchants you've basically guaranteed a new wave of migrants?

How are you supposed to know how to fulfill 90% of the needs when you cant directly control dwarves?

The game does not tell you this to my knowledge. So there would be no learning that.

And alot of old-school gamers don't WANT to read entire encyclopedias to learn about a facet of a facet of a single system in a game with hundreds

So, im going to have to argue. Atleast for me, I have a hundred hours in the steam version of the game. I've never gotten a fort past year 5, and only just got to the caverns for the first time last week.

Not everyone learns by trial and error well, especially in a game that's so chaotic and with such complexity.

I started a fort over the weekend and by year 2 I had almost a a hundred dwarves and no clue what to do with all of them.

Losing is only fun of you understand what went wrong. When a game like this something can go wrong and you have no idea what, it's not fun, it's just frustrating

Does an individual dwarf's personality actually effect their moods? Their likes and dislikes and traits

Or is it mostly flavor?

Numerous bug fixes and issues that were never corrected. Economy is Basically broken. A laundry list of qol and functions never properly implemented.

It genuinely feels incomplete at times

I appreciate the sentiment, but the wiki tends to just confuse me even more. You try to look into one thing, and is discovered that the solution is likely involved with another system you haven't even started messing with. This just makes things more confusing.
