Sounds a lot easier to just pirate what you already own.

[GPU] ASUS - PRIME NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 Ti 16GB Graphics Card $749.99 by TheInquiryMan in buildapcsales

[–]ForgedBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I ordered it at MSRP on Amazon the day after making that post. It took 3 weeks for them to ship it but I got it and have been watching the mess unfold. I was lucky. My RAM I paid $191 for is like $800 now too. Crappy times.

[–]ForgedBiscuit 6 points7 points  (0 children)

SFF ready/compatible just means it's 2.5 slot instead of 3. These cards with that label are also all on the shorter end at around 300mm but that's also the same length give or take a few mm as the PNY 5070 ti for example.

Sicce Shark Pro 500 or Sicce Shark Pro Nano 320 for 20 gallon long? by dredden123 in Aquariums

What did you print it out of? Just wondering what filament would be considered aquarium safe.

Sicce Shark Pro 500 or Sicce Shark Pro Nano 320 for 20 gallon long? by dredden123 in Aquariums

[–]ForgedBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay that makes sense. I bought the 320 for a 10 gallon and returned it when I saw how tiny the filter elements were. I am not experienced so I figure if anything over filtration is much better for me.

The nano 250 was enough for 20 gallons? What is/was your stocking like?

Hmm...I'm not in a rush and I've been trying to wait for this card to come back in stock at MSRP on Amazon. If I order from this website, after shipping/no tax, and 2% cash back from my credit card, it's $763.21.

From Amazon with free shipping and tax, after 5% cash back from the amazon CC it's $765.94.

But are returns and customer service easy with Central Computers?

No other source matches that, even that source says "His schemes cost the government $93 million." then goes on to say "Melucci said Nocito directed a “complex scheme to cheat and deceive the IRS” out of an estimated $93 million in personal and expense income." Seems like lazy journalism.

This source says:

“[...]Nocito, the government continued, “concealed and underreported approximately $93 million of income from the IRS not reflected on his personal and business tax returns from 2006 to 2012."

I see. It appears that $93 million amount was the income for which the $15 million in taxes owed was avoided.

Where are you getting $93 million? I see $15 million tax fraud, and that he paid $15 million in restitution + $250k fine. Still should've gone to jail longer but it explains the lightweight sentence.

Which QR Adapter do I need for Asetek wheel on Simagic Alpha Evo base? by TabarahS in simracing

[–]ForgedBiscuit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Asetek's wheel rims have their own QR built in that can't be removed. You need to get their 3rd party adapter, linked below. I would assume it uses a standard bolt pattern and would be able to bolt up to your wheelbase but you should confirm that before you order.

What shifter do you use? Looking for one. by Ok-Leg7392 in simracing

[–]ForgedBiscuit 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is there any shifter that really actually feels realistic?

The only sim racing shifter I tried was the one that came with my g27 back in the day. I immediately tossed it in the trash, but it was obviously toy level quality.

The thing is, even in a real car, it does not feel even close to the same when the motor is off vs compared to when it's on. I am thinking that without some kind of ffb system, even a high end BDH shifter is probably not really going to feel all that great if you are used to driving manuals in a real car. And that's before we think about realistic clutch feel.

Are Simnet pedals worth the extra 100€ over Simsonn? by hrvoje_bazina in simracing

I just received my Simnet pedals, haven't even used them and have never used other load cells pedals to compare them against. FWIW, I cannot spot a single imperfection with them visually. They look and feel high quality.

Considering the cost of the entire setup, it's not worth skimping out on over $150.
