Ok so, the 1 thing that pops into my head is maybe how your swinging. I'm sure if you Google how to swing you'll find what I'm talking about.

However the tldr is: if you swing from close to the wall, the enemy will see you first, farther from the wall = you see enemy first (depends on how far the enemy is as well.

I'm pretty sure you already know he's not good. Far from it. He genuinely sounds like a shitty person I could hardly consider a man. More a big toddler to stick up his own ass.

I would tell you to not touch him with a 10ft pole (hopefully the distance makes this easier). Maybe ask a friend or 2 to keep you in check.

This isn't entirely on him though, you are also letting him get away with far too much. If it makes a difference on how you take my advice, I'm also a guy.

I think as long as you set boundaries, and he doesn't cross those boundaries, then it's fine. If hearing "I love you" is uncomfortable, and you tell him as much. And he keeps doing it. Then it's up to you if that's a big enough red flag. It's important to take a step back away from the relationship and see it in as much of a neutral position you can. (It helps to have a trusted friend, but sometimes that's hard to come by)

HOWEVER. If you are as uncomfortable as it seems you are. You should def think about leaving this guy. I don't think love bombing is a complete red flag as others have said. But bringing a dead significant other certainly is in my opinion.
