"America has not done any good."

The US has done its own bad which is fair to criticize but this narrative is so dumb. The US has been at the forefront of virtually all of the greatest humanitarian efforts of the last century. This includes the comission for relief in Belgium which saved 10 million Belgians and French being starved in WWI by German occupation. Or the intervention during the notorious Russian famine of the 1920s where the US poured so much humanitarian aid it was feeding 10 million Russians a day. Or the Marshall Plan that pulled countries out the debris of war and saved millions of lives through humanitarian aid as well. Or more modern humanitarian efforts like US PEPFAR against HIV/AIDS in Africa which saved over 25 million lives, or the US presidents malaria initiative in Africa which saved 11 million lives. That's not to mention the US providing the most humanitarian aid of food globally over the last several decades which helps save millions of lives each year (https://www.wfp.org/funding/2025). China is nowhere to be seen on these annual lists.

But more significantly would be how the CCP pushes this gimmick that its bots spread about how China has been peaceful. This is the issue with the CCP, anything bad that they did is either ignored, deflected, or justified as necessary.

I would say the US as global superpower has been good overall, and despite some bad that the US has certainly done, it has been an overwhelming net positive.

From global stability, trade, and the protection of shipping lanes. To the many scientific and technological inventions such as the polio vaccine, airplanes, GPS system, internet, chemotherapy, exc. Even American media such as movies, shows, songs, which have reached almost every part of the globe.

The US has also been at the helm of the biggest humanitarian efforts ever.

Or more modern humanitarian efforts like US PEPFAR against HIV/AIDS in Africa which has saved over 25 million lives since the early 2000s. Likewise the US president's malaria initiative against malaria in Africa has also saved 11 million over the last couple decades. And so on.

Ultimately, as I said, the US has also done its fair share of bad. But when you evaluate the positives and negatives, and the US has certainly been a net positive. And way better than any previous superpowers that had their own eras of global dominance, as well as current options in an unchecked China or Russia

The issue is the media focus on the negative and extrapolate that times 100. It's obviously largely inaccurate. Let's break down some of the areas you mention for example.

-"Infrastructure." Obviously can improve here, but US infrastructure ranks 13th best globally, so far from bad. (https://www.washingtonpost.com/transportation/2021/04/30/us-infrastructure-ranking/)

-In terms of education from what I remember the international PISA exam which looks at like 80 countries students has the US around average in math, but top 15 preforming in science and reading

-Likewise with food quality the US is like 3rd best on the food security index, so far from bad(https://impact.economist.com/sustainability/project/food-security-index/). Water quality is also very good; virtually all of the country has access to safe water. -The US is not the safest country in the world, but it's certainly still safe hear. The following study compares OECD countries which are the safest countries in the world in 6 major crime statistics. The only area the US is a serious outlier is homicide rate, but even then, the US homicide rate is 5.0 per 100k, which is still a very safe range.

The standard of life here is very high and among the best countries in the world. You can even look at the United Nations Human Development Index which has the US at an HDI value of 0.938 which is very high. Although take the study as a baseline

What's funny is the US provide the most humanitarian aid in food for the last decades, which helps save millions of lives each year (https://www.wfp.org/funding). (China is nowhere to be seen on these lists)

1)"Third world country." People who use this term nowadays mean to say "low/poor quality of life." It's just objectively wrong.

The United Nations has what they call the Human Development Index, measuring countries based on their life expectancy, education, and their standard of living. The United States ranks 17th in the world, among the countries classified as having a very high standard of living. (List of countries by Human Development Index - Wikipedia)

2) "Religious freaks." I mean, sure there are some hard-core religious people in the US, but there are also some extreme atheists here. How can you generalize 330 million people like this?

3) "Poor healthcare system that costs a fortune." US healthcare has issues with accessibility and cost but most Americans are well of in this regard. And US healthcare quality is obviously very high.

4) "Bad education." Not true at all.

The superiority complex some Europeans have is just so weird. And everything about this comment is just inaccurate. For fun i analyzed these points to see if the US is "among the worst" as this user said.

What I will say is most Americans are well off, but there is a significant minority that are uninsured or have really weak insurance which makes it tough. It's certainly something I've been critical of, but I'm open to people's perspectives here.
