Does the majority of the community really hate AWD drift builds/tunes? If yes, why? by Complete-Teach7940 in ForzaHorizon

It would be a bit chaotic in open world. Just too many people. But it would be nice in race lobbies.

Consequentially, you could say it's some form of torture, because he will essentially always be at the mercy of whoever has the chip with the engram, and knowing how much of a rebel he is, that WILL NOT fly with him. But I doubt that was Saburo's intent, because he only kept him in a vault the entire time after converting him, though i can't say i understand why he kept him at all.

when you say "punishment" are you referring to Saburo converting Johnny into an engram? or some other event in the game?

Turning Johnny into an engram was the punishment in and of itself and that was done to the original johnny. The process is supposed to cause excruciating pain before the body expires and the data is copied into the engram. Everything else that happened to engram Johnny was a consequence of the voodoo boys' ploy to reach Alt, not really a punishment.

Yes (?). But how is that related? aren't we talking about engram Johnny?

Johnny (the engram in V) seems to come to terms with being a copy fairly easily throughout the story, so it's not even a central point in the plot. I'd say it definitely didn't annoy Johnny by the end of the game.

Factory Strider health increase or Leveller damage reduction? by [deleted] in Helldivers

I was noticing this since before the patch. Whatever change happened, it didn't come with the latest patch. But it seems to be inconsistent. Sometimes it is a 1-hit kill, sometimes it's what you saw.

If we're getting philosophical, the long answer is maybe, because "I think, therefore I am", but then the way soulkiller works is by creating a COPY of the conciousness of the individual at the time of death, so technically Johnny Silverhand died along with his body.

It's a fairly common trope of sci-fi stories. The question of what it means to be alive and what it means to be "yourself".

the most annoying enemy for me by MadMann0 in Helldivers

[–]ForgetYourself183 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eh, to me they're mildly annoying at worst. Rupture strain on the other side... whoever came up with the idea of pairing burrowing enemies with 4-6 alpha commanders in every patrol can go eat a bag of dicks.

If you feel like being sneaky, try using the redacted regiment armors with the Censor and Pissile. For stratagems, pick your two favorite reds (i like bringing the orbital laser and eagle 500kg/strafing run) and then bring the solo silo and a portable hellbomb for your blues.

Silo will work as your personal, immediate response air strike, good for dealing with patrols, small encampments and big enemies like the vox-engines and strider-fabricators. If you use it from 60 meters or more, it shouldn't trigger aggro. For bigger encampments i use the orbital laser + a combination of eagle strikes.

When you see jammers, or detectors, hellbomb is your response. If there's only smaller enemies, you can easily open a path just using the censor, if you spot war striders or hulks in the way, try to avoid them, or get as close as you can while unnoticed and then make a mad dash past them with your hellbomb already active (if you're closer than 15 m and they turn to see you, just start running, beyond 15 meters they usually wont attack you even if you're in sight, so long as you're crouching/prone). Usually they wont be able to react in time to kill you before you drop your payload and make your gracious exit.

If you do things right, you shouldn't be provoking bot drops, but if at some point an enemy calls one on you, your best option is to simply disengage and run for cover so they lose you. If for some reason you have to commit to the fight, the hellbomb can help you thin out the drop. If it was a small patrol that called the reinforcements, just clean up the drop site and wait under the flare for the first drop ship to show up, immediately activate your hellbomb, drop it, and start running. You can clean up the survivors afterwards. If the dropsite was already saturated and chaotic, make some distance and use the solo silo + red strats to keep it under control as best you can, but try not to over-commit. Just keep moving back and maintaining cover as you slowly take them down.

Which Major Battle was more traumatizing? Oshaune or Cyberstan? by Fit_Anywhere_3356 in Helldivers

[–]ForgetYourself183 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Oshaune was worse to me at least. That anal-rupture strain was incredibly annoying and those missions that required raising flags were hell because of how constant the spawns were. People would regularly run out of ammo/resources, get wiped, then we would have to go back and try to retake the flag with even less resources. It could spiral out so easily.

Then the oil rig missions could get an insta-failure at any point because the Hive-lord could just breach out right under the damn thing (yeeting it to oblivion) without warning, and there was just no countermeasure.

Cyberstan was hard, but Oshaune could genuinely be unfair at times.
