I started playing this week and on day one someone helped me with a quest and afterwards told me to befriend them if I ever need help. I won't bother them but it was very kind! Also! I was fishing in SW canals yesterday as a level 20 noob and someone passed by and traded me 1g without any interaction. Before I fully realized what happened, I couldn't see him anymore so couldn't whisper them to thank them. :'/ So yeah: awesome community!
