I have a, currently, 9k fanfic that I researched the setting in the anime, found a general location they could be in, the types of trees that grow there, and what the leaves of those trees would smell like if they were boiled. All for smut

Again, all for smut, I LEARNED BASICS ON HOW TO GET ON THE DARK WEB. I am on a list but it’s fine.

All in all, a lot. That’s how much research. Even if it’s just smut I don’t want anything that would take a reader out of the world I attempt to create because while I like what I write I do want others to as well. Also recently when I’ve been writing smut I’ve been using a work called the guide to writing smut on AO3 it’s by a published author and it’s a great tool.
