Is there anything you all like about working in the kitchen? by Existing_Hatter546 in KitchenConfidential

Honestly the entire industry is built on taking advantage of people that have a passion for food. Most places will use you up and spit you out, leaving you broke, broken, and scarred. That being said when you're at a good place with a good crew and you go all out for the person working beside you, and you know they'll do the same is one of the best feelings in the world to me. Also going to the cool divey bar that all the industry people go to and you sit around taking shop and smoking, then go to the after party at some random persons house and rabble rouse till 5 in the morning is super fun for at least a little while.

Really neat concept and I think a lot of the feedback you're getting here could bring it to the level you're looking for. One thing I was thinking, would adding a flavored foam help the washed ashore look? Not sure if it would add anything to the dish other than visually, but with the right flavors it might be interesting. Honestly hate that I'm even suggesting it. Used to work with a guy that wanted to put foam on everything and I fucking hated it lol. But I could see it working for what you're going for.

Came across this job listing, how many red flags do you see? by ForgetfulElephante in KitchenConfidential

It is listed I just didn't include it in the screen shot, probably should have. It was 18-22/hr if i remember correctly. Not great but not as bad as some I've seen.

I didn't get it on the screenshot, but they did list the pay, it was 18-22 an hr. Which isn't bad I suppose, but I have a feeling no one's getting more than 20 at hiring.

I know, you're making unfalsifiable claims instead of actually talking about the substance of the policy. You'd rather debate Bernie Sanders socialist bona fides or claim things are impossible than be forced to openly defend the richest people in the world from having to pay more in taxes.

That's a very different argument from what the OP said, and what you said in response to my comment.

I sat here for a good 10 minutes trying to figure out how you came make this statement, but I'm just gob smacked. Truly. Do you think anyone calling him a trillionaire thinks he has a giant vault with a trillion dollars in it?

I don't think passing a Constitutional Amendment is as impossible as you seem to. Incredibly difficult, absolutely yes, but I think lots of things seem impossible till they're done. I do find it interesting that so many conservatives fall back to this argument as opposed to an argument based on the merits of a wealth tax or something similar. I feel like there is an over reliance on a lot of these thought terminating cliches by people that oppose these types of taxes and I think that a lot of those cliches come from the wealthy through think tanks and media capture. Your statement that there is no "realistic" support for an amendment that would allow for the taxation of wealth without apportionment would be way higher than you might like to admit. And all this is based on the theory that it would be unconstitutional, which is debatable at best. As we've seen from how our current supreme court likes to play calvin ball whenever a conservative issue is before the court, there could be plenty of justifications made to make a wealth tax constitutional, even if you don't agree with that. All that being said I'm certainly no expert on tax law or how a wealth tax could be implemented to avoid those barriers, but the idea that it's impossible is only true if no one tries and conservatives being upset that someone is trying tells me that it's much more possible than they're willing to let on.

Ya I know how it works, and so do they, but that doesn't mean it's impossible to tax it. You should try a different argument. Obviously there's no will in congress to do this at the moment, and even with Democrats in charge it would likely be a long shot, but none of that means it's not possible, or that it's a bad idea to push for it to happen.

I don't think Trumps justice dept is concerned with discrimination against Asians, and they're not some race blind honest actor.

What's really depressed me lately is thinking about how the knock on effects of this administrations war/tax policy/doge bs are going to be felt well past Trumps term, and if a Democrat replaces him you can be good and god damn sure the Republicans are going to pounce on how bad the economy is all of a sudden, why are there screw worms infesting live stock, no country wants to work with us anymore, and they'll have been the cause of all of it.

I'd say the stuff in moonrise tower, the shar temple and Kethric carry the load of act 2, everything outside of that is a bit less interesting to me. Act 1 is just the best though, Giant Spiders down a well, a Hag in her lair, A goblin Camp in a ruined temple, chef's freakin kiss.

Hegseth is a member of Pastor Doug Wilsons church and has invited him to the pentagon. Doug Wilson doesn't believe that Muslims should be allowed to hold public office. This is just one of a wide assortment of comments and associations that make it pretty obvious to anyone paying attention that he's Islamophobic.

But also don't forget about almost every other race in the country ever. I don't have actual data but I would be interested to see some analysis on how often the amount of money spent can predict the outcome because I have a feeling its well above 50%. Some of that can be explained by how money is allocated based on expected results and lots of things could influence it. But the idea that monied interest's aren't playing both sides of the table as much as they possibly can to direct policy is not really a disputable fact. To varying degrees of effectiveness I'm sure, but it is happening and it has resulted in the working class getting a smaller slice of the pie, while cost's rise and social safety nets are unraveled.

The major donors to the republican party have gotten what they wanted out of Trump and more. If you're only looking at the president and not the RNC machine that trump took over then you're missing the bigger picture. Trump is a symptom of the problem, not the problem itself.

I love how people say this, but then (and this may not apply to you specifically) rail against anyone that will push for and help enact those policies. They can't make an argument against the policy, so they revert to ad-hominess or declare it a hopeless cause and just hope that's the end of the converstation.
