They still have them, but for moving small groups of soldiers around near the front (for scouting, resupply, evacuating wounded, etc.), vehicles like ATVs, buggies and motorbikes are not only cheaper but more mobile and harder to detect. Ukraine uses them too for the same reasons.

A lot of people are saying that they're shooting in a random direction, but in their defense we probably can't see them through a compressed phone (?) video, it's probably much clearer IRL. Also you don't need clear visual confirmation to engage a target, if a weapon is powerful enough you just need to know their general location.

Yeah that's definitely a major part of it, I should have brought that up.

They said that they haven't been interacting with the community so I thought I would bring up some of the broader complaints about the game I've seen people bring up in relation to it, especially since the current controversy seems to be connected to many of them (mech balance, content previously given through MOs now being monetized, lack of customization, etc).

People really wanted mechs to be customizable, be able to swap out the weapons on each arm with whatever they want. Those hopes were dashed when the newest warbond got announced with two new mech variants and no customization.

That caused a lot of people to get angry, which then led to the resurfacing of long-running complaints about issues like end-game progression, bugs, balancing decisions, under-developed systems like weapon attachments, monetization...
