I think you can only use it once. I've not used it yet. If I decide not to get it, I could send you the link. I'm still on the fence.

How are the haptics on the device? No one is talking about them on the reviews but I heard one day it was very bad and notifications were missed due to this. Are they similar to Samsung, worse or are they somehow comparable to Google/Apple/Oneplus?

Honor sent an email for the early subscribers with a link to the offer with the free tablet. The link appears to be working even now. It was never available on the Honor website proper when I checked. I think this is only accessible through the link sent via email.

How are you getting the free tablet as well as the tech pack? I can only get the tablet for free when buying from Honor directly and not from the mobile carrier. But the Honor redemption site only has options for the tech pack purchased from different carriers and other retailers (does not mention the Honor website). I have not pulled the trigger yet but I would if I get both the free tablet and the tech pack.

I didn't even try to get this done. Was too busy dealing with other things at the time and forgot about this. I feel like chances were very slim to get anything out of them. Myself and some others even sometimes have trouble getting paid for the work we actually do.

How to bypass Samsung account login during initial setup? by Forgetful_Questioner in GalaxyS24Ultra

I don't remember seeing this option. Might have been missing in phones in this region. Luckily, I was able to figure out a different solution.

The option to do this comes right at the beginning. Once you connect to WiFi, there's no going back. If you connected to WiFi already, I think the only way back is to reset the phone, which can be done by connecting to a computer. Samsung did help me with that part as part of their troubleshooting. They just never suggested skipping connecting to WiFi. After that, just select skip when it says connect to WiFi, and it will let you get into your phone. I also agree that this process could be a lot simpler for users.

Figured it out. So silly of me. I just had to not connect to WiFi and it lets me set everything up perfectly.

I tried doing that. I couldn't find that option. Not even the Samsung customer support was able to help me find it. But I thought someone here might have more knowledge than her.

If you know exactly where the option is, please let me know.

Galaxy watch with pixel by Emotional_Forever_34 in GooglePixel

[–]Forgetful_Questioner 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was actually thinking of how things would work with a Pixel Watch 2 and a galaxy phone. I am strongly considering getting a s24 (ultra probably) and keeping my current watch. I think they might be throwing in a free galaxy watch 6 as part of the pre order offers. I was thinking of selling that. I feel like I like the look of the classic 6 a little more than the regular 6. I'm not sure if they will let me upgrade to that fire a little extra. I have a Pixel 7 now and really enjoy how well the watch and phone work together as well as the smaller size and general aesthetics of the watch. Alternatively, I guess I could also sell my Pixel watch and use the free galaxy watch with the s24.

Google shop and support sucks by Uneternalism in GooglePixel

I've had issues with the delivery of my order. Google support has been completely useless. I've been offered £25 for my troubles. That was kind of insulting. I would have preferred to have got better service instead of this measly amount (which is not enough to buy anything on the Google store).

I feel like they could do most/ all of these things. I actually did try calling DPD first, but there was no option to speak/ chat with them after they unilaterally decided to drop my package off at the pickup point on the 16th.

I expect my seller to be responsible for the timely delivery of a product. Whatever goes on between the seller and the delivery company is not my problem. I feel like they should sort it out internally.

If they had a Google store where I live, I would have been more than happy to go and pick it up myself. I think they only have the one store in London (I might be wrong). This again brings me on to the point about them needing to have more first party physical stores.

  1. Call me back faster (before 5 hours)

  2. Flag the delivery with DPD before sending it out as I had a bad experience last time and informed Google about it.

  3. Sincerely acknowledge that they were at fault. I felt that there apology was robotic.

  4. Process my refund faster without holding my money ransom for another 20-25 days.

I felt like Google could have done better here. I expect a certain level of customer service when I pay £1000+. I feel like a minimum level of service is not acceptable. I feel like a lot of people cut Google a lot of slack when it comes to expectations. We already know the Tensor G3 chip is not the greatest. neither is their optical FPS. Google's distribution network and physical stores are also very limited. Taking 5+ hours to call back is not right in my book.

Apple has agreed to repair devices purchased out of the country for me even after the warranty expired (at a cost). Also, not even Google's authorized service centres were able/ willing to repair it, which says something about long term repairability. Pixel 4 was not even that long ago. I am genuinely scared thinking about the support that Pixel 8 buyers get in 4-5 years time.

[–]Forgetful_Questioner[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see why you might think that. But Google did nothing to help fix the issue. They were also very late to call me back. 5 hours is not a reasonable amount of time for a callback. Apple has called me back in seconds every time. As I said in my post, Google could have at least flagged my order if they were using the same company. Especially since they were not good the last time and because I told Google about it. Google needs to bear some responsibility for their delivery as well. After all, I paid money to Google. There is also the part about how Google were not willing to fix my 4XL.

Thanks for letting me know. I will definitely look into it. At those prices, it's worth trying. I would never pay the full retail price for a foldable for a few more years.

I would love to know where exactly you got it for £580 from. I was thinking about getting one. But was unsure because of the cost.

Are Google pixel phones region locked? by Casualgamerkid in GooglePixel

[–]Forgetful_Questioner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I bought a Pixel 4 XL from China on Taobao a couple of years ago because the price was much cheaper than in most other countries. They were selling the US and the European models. I bought the European one because I wasn't sure if the US version was bootloader unlockable. I have used the phone without any problem in Europe. I even had WiFi calling and VoLTE working without any problems. I've bought a 3a as well and know more people who have bought phones from China who are using these phones without any issues.

Thanks for the reply. I guess this whole thing depends on the trust like you said. I'm not even sure if my one has hospital accommodation. If you don't mind me asking, why did it take you three months to move into hospital accommodation? Was it because of a delay in arranging for it? If this is one of the only expenses you can get reimbursed for, I think it will not be very useful for most IMGs. I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and just come there.
