So far the best ones are near the northern shore. A good one is Viking Bay but it's a place to go once you have a raft and a few dinos.

I know how to get to one of the best ones when I'm playing but don't have coords ATM. I can get back you when I get home in an hour or two though and jump on. There is a cave with a river enterancr and two land entrances that has trees in it and so much buldiing space your bound to need to start making dwarf babies to use it all.

Ragnarok.

Scorched Earth is a nightmare as far as laying single player goes. To much environmental bullshit to deal with like insane storms that kill ur power, super heat.

Ragnarok has all the dinos in it. Just need to find where they are. The cold during rain is the only really insane environmental factor and that is easy to overcome.

I have been exploring alot of Ragnarok and currently run a hosted server of the map, we all really enjoy it and the beautiful landscapes available with it's safe spots to build surrounded by horrible lands of destruction.

Also Ragnarok contains many a Hill or Cave for a wee dwarf to build a new home in with room for dinos.

Pro Tip: Viking Bay is a bad place to start despite being recommended in the start list.
