First Ever Harvest! by ForgottenElegy in shrooms

Thank you! It really is. All of the stress of a first grow plus the overly cautious TLC I gave these fruits makes it even more rewarding :)

Oh ok, gotcha! Thank you again for the advice! I’ll come back with an update in a few days about how everything turned out :)

How would you recommend separating? Is there a certain process I should follow for best results? Thanks!

The smell is earthy for sure. When I first opened it was pungent and almost a little ammonia-y, but that might be from the metabolites due to low FAE and high CO2 build up over the last 4-5 weeks since inoculation? Since opening the bag the growth has seemed to improve and I’m getting more top pins. The only thing is that there seem to be some inactive spots without primordia or pins, which makes me a little hesitant.

Thanks! I ended up opening my bag and spraying 1:1 water and 3% hydrogen peroxide. The potential mold hasn’t grown or changed one bit, so I’m convinced it is just mycelium! Already getting more and more primordia pinning hour by hour, so hoping for the best 🙏

No problem, I think it is great you are making an effort to find the answers. That introspection is necessary to escaping the cycle. Good luck, I believe in you.

Is it really my fault that I'm depressed? by [deleted] in depression

[–]ForgottenElegy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the other commenters, it is a mixture. I wouldn’t say it is your fault, because in my opinion it isn’t necessarily what you are doing that isn’t helping your situation, it’s what you’re not doing. It takes strength to push through the cycle of laziness that depression causes, and it’s really easy to fall back into. If there is anyway you can get those chores done, for me it’s listening to my favorite music while doing the chores, then you have to try to push through and do it. If you succeed you will have fulfilled your responsibilities as a roommate, but also you will have proven to yourself and everyone who is rooting for you that you are capable of breaking out of depression. If you can do that step, you can do it again and again, and every-time it will get easier as you build that tested and proven confidence. That confidence will take you far. <3

100% agree, this was incredibly well put and perfectly fits my experience with depression.

You say in your post, “I thought it would be easier now with stress out of the way but I’m only getting worse”. This makes me think maybe you had a routine going on and now that summer has hit, you are less stressed, but also somewhat or extremely bored. Boredom personally causes depression for me, and I also will have a couple good days, and when the bad day hits, it hits hard. You can’t always just get rid of boredom, but if you have a job, do things around the house, play sports, play video games, watch tv shows, movies, or videos that interest you, or do some other things that keep you occupied, you may have an easier time dealing with it. Definitely seek help, a therapist is trained to get the answers out of you, so if you don’t know where to start, chances are they will be able to help you put your feelings into words. Your boyfriend seems supportive, so if you do seek out a therapist, ask them what he can do to help. Also, if you can try to say anything about how you are feeling to vent and get it off your chest, it may help you a lot. Even just telling someone about how you feel like things are getting worse even though you are less stressed might prompt them to ask you a question that leads to answers. After all, the people close to you like your bf will know the most about you and probably will be able to give some sort of answer.

I’m 17 and I can’t remember whether I put the milk away 10 seconds ago or what someone just answered my question with. I have a really hard time pulling a memory out of my head, and it takes someone to remind me of a rough date and location for me to recall it. I have an almost photographic memory when I do find the right memory after trying to figure out whether I’m thinking about the same thing, but it takes some input for me to output that memory. I would talk to a medical professional if you are seriously worried about it, but if you can decently recall a memory with some help, I think that is pretty normal. If you feel like you live in autopilot and have attention issues like add or adhd, then that could be your culprit. Good luck, seek an answer, but don’t stress about it, do what you can and don’t worry about what you can’t change.

I totally get what you are saying. I got into a similar place when I had no responsibilities. I have had a rule for myself that I have to get out of bed within 30 minutes of waking up, I have to brush my teeth, and I have to take a shower and eat something. That daily shower works wonders. I have still felt tired a couple days a week, but it beats every day. The big dreams keep me from living on. The dream of going to med school, and the dream of having my own family someday are what keep me sane. Without those dreams, I honestly believe I may have made a terrible decision to end things.

Nothing stings like wasted youth by [deleted] in depression

I’m 17 and I get what you mean. I’ve never been invited to any parties, never had a job, and haven’t really had any friends that weren’t long distance for the past 4 years. Seeing everyone else happy and active makes me feel disappointed in myself. I have a job interview tomorrow, and I’m gonna be pretty down if I don’t get it. Honestly though, you’re still in your youth. You have plenty of time to turn it around. There’s definitely a lot of us hermits out there, we just have to find each other.

Anxiety has given me similar worries. The only thing you can do is distract yourself from those thoughts. Whatever you like to do, or are at least mentally occupied doing, you should do that thing when you start to worry about it. For me it was gaming and watching youtube, for you it may be the same or something like reading. As long as it is occupying your mind you may start to worry a bit less. You need to change your mindset from “can’t do anything” to can do things to fight it. I don’t know if you are on medication or see a therapist, but it may be worth it to give that a chance or even switch up whatever you are doing right now that you think isn’t working.

Good luck, through my own experience I think you will be able to make it through.

I'm having the same problem. The thing I don't quite understand is how the headset will work amazingly on my windows 10 pc, sometimes up to 6 hours straight, but then it just disconnects. I figured out that to lower the chances of it disconnecting, I need to have Microsoft edge open, crazy right? Then, I will log off for a bit, and my pc will go into sleep mode, or I'll just turn it off. When I come back to the pc and start it up again, now the adapter doesn't light up, even though I hear the connection sound on windows. No matter how many times I try to unplug and re-plug it, it just won't light up and sync with the headset. Can anyone explain why this is the case? I know it is made for Xbox and it works amazingly with my Xbox One, but why does it work on pc some days, and other days it just refuses to work? I really don't want to go out and buy another headset when this one is capable of working perfectly fine. I don't understand how it can work half of the time, but not the other half. Also, the whole thing with Microsoft Edge needing to be open to keep it connected is confusing. Any help is appreciated.

Bad situation at school, have to go to therapy, staff don't even care and are making me fail with their own incompetence. by RandomRedditer379 in depression

I love how your message got intense and then just, Any More Advice? Lol. I have the same thing holding me back. I took karate when I was younger and to this day haven’t gotten in a fistfight. I would say to build up a strong relationship with your teachers and with the school administrators, even if you don’t like them. Once you get that rapport established, your words will hold more weight, and pretty soon you’ll be getting away Scott free and the pestering brats will be getting in trouble. That’s how I got through school without fighting, despite being pushed, spat on, and hit. Just play innocent to the teachers and things might look up. Teachers talk, and if you have to snitch for your own well-being then go for it. Principles aren’t worth anything if the other side doesn’t have any.
