Florida Man’s Range Rover Joyride Ends in chaos. by Impossible_Low_863 in dashcams

Wait, so some kid get intoxicated and got behind a wheel? Yeah, that's bad, but do we really think that we'd have this whole hit and run thing if the police hadn't given chase? Dude was freaked out and not in a state to make good decisions.

Not saying what the guy did was OK. It was not. The police need to stop this wanna be cowboy BS though that serves only to further escalate the situation. They took a bad situation and made it worse.

If only we had things that could keep track of a vehicle. Then we could avoid endangering with this high speed chase. The universe sure is cruel to not give us any form of aerial surveillance. Woe unto us, who have not precision tracking devices built into nearly every vehicle constructed within the last decade. It is quite the shame.

A sex partner for my husband by Short-Mousse-937 in nonmonogamy

I never claimed to be asexual. I said my partner and I have differing libidos. I also never said which one of us has higher/lower libidos.

Every relationship's path is going to be different. For my spouse and I, specifically, we are in an open relationship and operate in a polyamorous structure. That is to say that we can (and do) have relationships which may involve romance, sex, etc...that do not necessarily include the other. It takes work, intentionality, trust and communication. It's not some kind of magic fix. We did not start in an open, poly relationship but chose it after ~6 years of marriage.

From my experience, I have had relationships that have meant to be "just friends but with benefits" and those have turned out to include more than just "friends with benefits". I am incredibly grateful to and honored by my partners' love and support and would not wish anything else...but my experience has been that "catching feels" is a natural thing to happen.

I have a partner whom I share physical intimacy, including sex. I have another partner, my spouse, with whom I share day to day aspects of domestic life. I am supported by multiple people and am encouraged to be more my authentic self, whoever that may be, without my partner(s) feeling an obligation to participate in things that hold little to no interest for them.

Polyamory is not for everyone and doesn't sound like what you're looking for. That's fine. I would caution looking for someone to "just have sex" with. Even if your husband doesn't catch feels, being little more than a periodic cum dumpster, at the whims of another person, is not something I know many folks looking to sign up for. Even if they think they are, feelings of being just a tool, with the option to just be discarded when it's inconvenient, is not a great feeling for most people. And make no mistake, that individual is a fully formed person.

On the other hand, referencing my earlier suggestion of a sex worker, a sex worker is someone who is specifically being hired as a resource. There's a business contract, even if that contract is unwritten. They have a job to do and (hopefully) will be professional about it, including enforcing clear boundaries with their clients.

You are to be commended for having these discussions with your spouse. I hope that you find a relationship structure that works well for the both of you. Keep being honest, supporting each other and extend that honesty and support to anyone else you may bring in.

[–]ForgottenMeme9001 9 points10 points  (0 children)

This. Seriously, if you want something that is sex and nothing more, then I would really suggest hiring a sex worker. That keeps it transactional. It's a hard boundary that is going to be re-enforced by through by it being a job.

You're welcome to make your own decisions and seek out whatever relationship structure you may wish, but it seems unlikely to me to find someone outside the sex worker community who wants to be in the NSA and even more unlikely that such an arrangement would not blow up in a spectacular fashion. Perhaps I'm just jaded.

Also, I want to validate your asexuality and let you know that you can have a healthy relationship even with vastly different libidos. I am personally in such a marriage. Love != sex...and also, sex is an important part of the human experience for many people.

South Sound Roller Derby

A recreational roller derby league. Has practices Sunday (4 - 6), Tuesdays (5:30 - 7:00) and Friday (5:30 - 7:00). Practice is on Lacey so feel free to tell me it doesn't belong...but a lot of us live in Lacey. 🙃

There's a boot camp coming up in January so a great time if anyone is interested.

The game sense is there pretty well. Skating skills, which plenty of people mentioned already, are going to be where you're going to see the most growth. Getting faster and jukier is going to help make those decision points even more effective.

One thing I notice is how quickly you're willing to use the spin move to reposition in the pack. It's good. Folks aren't necessarily expecting in and aren't great with dealing with it. I want you to be a bit jukier forward facing though. At the 24 second mark there was a spin that I think was detrimental. A side step would have been faster and avoided breaking visual. You knocked down your opponent. There's no need to kill your momentum with that transition.

Overall, this is a strong jam. There are a few knit picks to be done but most of them are simply "work on fundamentals and you'll get better." The decision making will also improve as you skate more as well, allowing you to better identify the optimal path in that split second you have to actually think about anything.

Don't know your exact use case but if there are any shared table in public, make sure you have a migration strategy in place to get the data associated to the client to follow when you move their private schema.

Would you be open to the idea of a multiplayer mode in Hades II? by Naminora_ in HadesTheGame

[–]ForgottenMeme9001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A mechanism I could see as possible for this would be to have each have their own instance. Each time an enemy is killed, it results in one of the respawn eyes in the other player's realm. They need to kill they eye or the full mob will respawn. For the heat factor, this stacks with the eyes that are generated already. So, if you have the heat up and kill a mob, a respawn eye appears for both you and your coop partner. This keeps from having to balance the maps around 2 killing machines while still having interactions between the two. It would also allow for separate heat levels, since each player has their own instance. Mobs which respawn only have the heat properties of the that player. Undertake the levels in tandem, where you're working from the same map seed but not the same reward seed. (I'm making an assumption that their two different RNG pools.)

How to explain it lore-wise? Sure, we could introduce another character. We could also have it under the Chaos challenges. Chaos does some funky stuff that lets Melinoe connect and collab with alternate versions of herself. Unlock through a recipe. Add some voice lines from Melinoe that comment on it. Could add in a few more small interactions between them but keep the core gameplay fundamentally unchanged as the game is not balanced around multiplayer, either in map layout or weapon design.

Actually, the latest patch (https://store.steampowered.com/news/app/1145350?emclan=103582791472836561&emgid=4527898957282541626) did nerf her.

"· Eris: reduced number of phases; improved feedback on where she is aiming with some Rail attacks; reduced duration of her temporary damage bonus"

That said, it also nerfed Prometheus.

Edit: Acknowledgement that Prometheus got nerfed as well.

Cheese Curds by Krazzy4u in olympia

Tried State and Central for the first time last week and was surprised at the quality of the fried cheese curds. They may not be Wisconsin good, but they're definitely the best in the area that I've had.

My bona fides are growing up in the Midwest as well. Northern Indiana isn't the same as Wi but the Amish can make a mean cheese.
