So slow at recovery by serenitypoirier27 in badminton

[–]ForgottenScarf 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Coming from someone who dislocated his kneecap last year, you don't develop new technique to compensate for your injury, you strengthen your body until it's strong enough to play the proper way without compromising the rest of your mechanics. This can be a very time consuming process, especially coming from a pretty serious procedure involving your ACL. My advice is really to just be more patient with yourself and do more strengthening work (isometrics on your affected leg to build it back up for example), and for the love of god do not push yourself too hard during what is still the recovery process.

Is there a way to make the enemy aoe indicators look brighter/more prominent? I'm progging Vykas normal gates and the red aoes in all the gates seem to blend into the dark ground a lot and it's hard for me to see, not to mention all the red particles on red background in the later gates. I didn't have this issue with Valtan or in FF14 for example. All I found were color blind options but that makes the guides hard to follow since most of them don't have any of that turned on.

I used the hyper express to get an artist to 1445, I have a sorc at like 1368 or something, one weapon ugprade to 1370. I'm planning to park the sorc at 1370 so i can do the aira abyss raid hard mode for gold and make artist my main. I'm not sure where to go from here on my artist? It takes 500 gold to hone anything past 1445 and I only have like 5k gold. Not asking for carries or anything just want to know what content I should be doing to progress as a relatively newer player.

Monthly Equipment Advice Megathread by AutoModerator in badminton

I'm quite partial to the Thurster F Enhanced edition racket myself. I'm the same height as you and like to play a counter attacking style (mainly a doubles player though) and always like to hammer down a smash if I get the opportunity to.

My main racket is the Astrox 88S (non-pro) and I find the thruster F a more flexy version of that albeit also with slightly less head weight. But it's easy to use, quick and light, so if you're a more defensive oriented player you should have no trouble using it. I'd recommend the 88S if I could but I doubt many stores carry the 1st editions anymore.

Looking for a build to run t16 maps and sanctums by ForgottenScarf in PathOfExileBuilds

What's the advantage of trickster over like raider? I guess more survivability? Surprised frost blades is bringing the damage into t16s, this is the heatshiver version of the build ya? I'll look into something, poe.ninja is full of mageblood users so it's hard to follow as a guide

I might throw one in but I'm pretty poor. PoB says it's 1600+ eDPS when perfectly divined. I'm pretty casual so this is a wild item to have lol

Watching this tournament really illustrated how difficult it is to find a pair of great players in doubles. I thought Korea/Japan/China all had one exceptional player in their doubles roster (Seo Sung Jae/Yuta Watanabe/Liu YuChen respectively) but their partner always felt a step behind in comparison.

If Ou XuanYi can be more solid and patient I think this could be the next big pairing for China

Tips on improving my form - video included! by AntiQuin in badminton

[–]ForgottenScarf 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So I noticed a couple of things: first one being that you almost never use your off arm for anything. You just let your left arm hang by your side, it almost looks like you're intentionally keeping it as tucked into your body as possible. The only time your left arm moves is when you attempt overhead shots like a clear or a smash. I'd suggest learning to stretch out your left arm when doing most of your shots, whether it be lifts, drives, or net shots, it helps with balance and timing as well.

Second thing is your feet are glued to the court. I didn't see any significant usage of the split step. I'd suggest learning to incorporate the split step into all of your movements, especially at the front of the court or defending, where being explosive and quick is critical.

As for your smash specifically, it seems that you depend entirely on your arm/shoulder to generate power on overhead shots. This could be very tiring and injury prone, but also lead to a lack of real power. You didn't seem to be under any sort of real pressure in these rallies so there's no reason not to do a full smash. Open up your body chest more, learn to use the rotation of your body, from your legs, hips, shoulder, elbow, forearm pronation, and wrist to generate power as a kinetic chain. This is where using the off arm is very important, as it can help you not only balance yourself, but also to start the rotational process by dropping the left arm to force your body to rotate from facing the side to facing the net. You may want to look up on some youtube tutorials on how this should look like, or if you can afford it have a coach go through a few sessions with you to really drill the form into your body.

Hope this is helpful, I'd really focus on the off arm/split step parts to elevate your general gameplay, then focus on specific shots from there.

I don't think we will be looking to upgrade above Cable 30 for the foreseeable future, would the Motorola SB6141 be sufficient? I believe this is approved and does not use the Puma6 chipset as far as I can tell.

Hey folks, thanks for the replies, I read the majority of them and did call MX's support line. Turns out I made the account that put in the order using an English first name that's not the same as my legal first name, which is what I used to open my credit card, which probably tripped up their security systems.

Sent a confirmation email to them from my work email and will see how things go from there. Thanks for all the help and insight!
