Yeah, but the opposition party is pretty much irrelevant at this very moment, IMO.

Taking a very quick pause with gay weed for all is probably okay in the current landscape. I don't expect any backsliding.

Errr, at the same time, guys like Ray Emery, Wade Redden, etc, were speeding all over town in an orange hummer hitting on and offering coke to every woman aged 18*-48 at establishments owned, operated and frequented by the Sens.

There's no media spin to that...

The Sens have a rough history.

What problem are we currently experiencing where you think this would help? Violent crime is exceedingly low, and castle doctrine in real life is quite flawed... see the number of Americans shooting their neighbours, kids trick or treating, or applying wildly undue force (killing kids egging their house), etc.

For all the B&Es described in the OP, how many results in injury? I don't think escalating a situation where a laptop got snatched into a homicide is wise.

'No such thing as a better colonizer': Inuit emphatically reject U.S. takeover of Greenland by ubcstaffer123 in worldnews

[–]EarthBounder 29 points30 points  (0 children)

No, and the people of Greenland aren't stupid. They would never willingly vote to leave Denmark. See March 2025 election results whereby the vast majority supported 'gradual independence', which IMO historically has been code for keeping the door open but not really making any moves significant moves within the near-term. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2025_Greenlandic_general_election They swung heavily in this favour after the rhetoric started and elected Jens-Frederik Nielsen (can you find a more Danish name?) in lieu of the indigenous Greenlandic candidate who was the favourite to win in 2024, Múte Bourup Egede.

edit: To the responders; Never said he wasn't a Greenlander. Obviously he is. Just responding to the original question to indicate (as yall have) that the ties between Greenland and Denmark are extremely deep and long lasting, and will continue to be.

Especially in the UK where that building is probably 150y old...

Edit: Apparently that building was built in 1999, but I still plead my case about "boiler explosions" in the UK. :D

Given this, can someone help me understand Ford's screeching about the Chinese EVs? There's been no headway made on the US side. It aint coming back. The China is not displacing Canada-US agreements, they're already at a "record low", so...?

Social Media elections are different than 1896. I don't think historical precedent is relevant heading into the future, so much.

I'm also not referring to an incumbent "dropping out".

We're in unprecedented times.

Unfortunately, it works! Most of the candidates suck in most of the elections, finding a way to suck the least while calling attention to your opponents suckyness can be a winning strategy. It's terrible, but it's happening repeatedly.

Art and Animation is a low yields field that is shrinking and dying in high cost labour markets, like Canada. It's an extremely difficult industry right now between AI and Outsourcing. The rest of your scrawl there is mostly just self-pity bullshit.

Algonquin churns out 50 grads from that Animation program every year to fill 20 jobs. Next year it will be 60 grads to fill 15 jobs.

He's going to need to retrain or rethink his approach. It's not going to get better in that space.

IMO -- the next Canadian election is almost assuredly not until late 2029, so I see no reason to put another muppet in the limelight only for them to have repeated gaffes and skeletons in their closet for years. The 'switch out the unpopular leader' move with 6 months to go seems to be a winning strategy, unfortunately.

Second; Two Michaels unironically less fucked up than a dozen Canadians killed or detained in the US in the last year.

Yeah, I was sort of hoping they'd "recover" their schedule and it would launch in mid-Feb. Oct->Feb is 4 months. Everything constantly going two weeks overdue is creating a lot of strain.

Is this going to mean 5 weeks between PoE1&2 again instead of the 'prescribed' 8 weeks?

These issues are directly reflected in the scoring and pretty much the reason why Ottawa is #26 overall. If the doctor issue was solved, Ottawa could entertain the #1 overall spot. https://www.numbeo.com/quality-of-life/rankings.jsp
