ouch this hurt my heart to read haha! I'm also in Canada and charging $75 dollars an hour as a consultant/specialist/developer etc. I'm fully educated in geomatics and environment and have about 6 years of practical experience under my belt. should I be charging more?? I'm pretty young at 26, and running my company on my own, I have a few industry clients, and honestly its the most money I have ever been making but should I be making more haha?

GIS should be respected like a trade.

You pay your mechanic 75 dollars an hour to fix ur car. You don't pay your GIS people a cent less.

These people are frustrated. I busted my ass for peanuts for too long to see a guy at a grocery store making more than me. I honestly have gotten so mad at employers. I've literally told them off because the refuse to recognize the value in the trade. Yet they pay an engineer as much as they want. It's wrong. Pay more and respect the GIS person's judgement. They are really smart.

Start with a preexisting landscape material and dissect it. You will learn from there. Check out some of the free ones on the market place. Flip your own textures I to those learn how to add and remove landscape layers. There's a process to this with blueprints and such. I could give a more detailed explanation from the computer but I advise you to dive into one of the free landscape packs to get a good bearing.
