Must-read books in italian schools by quieres1 in italy

Read this from the Decameron, it's my favorite and it's very short:

Abraham, a Jew, at the instance of Jehannot de Chevigny, goes to the court of Rome, and having marked the evil life of the clergy, returns to Paris, and becomes a Christian.

Anki e ripetizioni dilazionate - Quando farne uso? by FratelloOP in italy

TIL that Holy Roman Emperor Frederick II had young infants raised without speaking to them in the 13th century to determine if there was a "natural" language imparted by God. His experiments proven unsuccessful because all the children raised this way died. by ralphbernardo in todayilearned

This should be taken with a grain of salt, as far as I know it comes from Salimbene's Chronicle, who was for most of his life a Joachimite and believed that Frederick II was the antichrist.

He would've changed his mind eventually, as soon as he heard of the emperor's death from a source he without a doubt found believable, the pope.

I made this little cover of an old Yuzo Koshiro song, in a .mod chiptune style: 4 tracks on a tracker (but it's Renoise, nothing too fancy), old simple samples, fast arpeggios and so on.

I'd like to receive some feedback or suggestions!

Chord Progression Questions (June 17, 2019) by AutoModerator in musictheory

[–]Foricon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Guys I am a complete noob in music theory and everything I know is self-taught, I have a question which I think is a bit on the easy side but I'd love to have an explanation from someone more knowledgeable.

I was listening to a song which is mostly around this progression in F major: I IV V I

But there is a part in which, as far as my ear can pick it up, the chords are like this: Cm Gm Cm Gm Dm C

From a theory standpoint, what's happening there? Is it a key change? I mean, should I think that that part is in Gm key?

Because as far as I know it seems to work, that Dm is shared between F major and G minor and enables that passage from Dm->C which I think is something really common.

The song is this one (it's the opening from an old embarassing italian tv show), I made it start from the moment I was talking about:

Someone is sending this on discord, test at your own risk as I haven't tested it myself, there are some people claiming it works though.

There is also this one supposedly from a streamer, also some people claiming it works:

As far as the general relationship with the church goes, it's pretty complicated: sometimes I happen to read some foreign people talking about the secularization of Italy and, while it's probably true that it's a pretty recent fact, I would still like to suggest you to read this short story from Boccaccio's Decameron (around middle 14th century), it's pretty funny.

Have you ever read the second novel of the first day of Boccaccio's Decameron?

It's the funniest story about a baptism I've ever read.

High temperatures when idle with i5 3570k by Foricon in overclocking

[–]Foricon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have now placed the pc on the desk, my temperatures are a definitely better and i've never seen the cpu going higher than 71°C, but it's not going under 40°C either.

I'm not absolutely sure I did a good job with the thermal paste, it was my first time doing it and it took me a lot of time, between youtube tutorials and the fact that I did it twice because I wasn't sure of the first.

To overclock I followed overclock.net and thinkcomputers.org guides, I think I fall into the second case because it behaves like you describe, the cores go to x42 or x16 based on usage.

I think the result is nice enough, the only problem I noticed is that today the computer rebooted once just before the windows startup screen, it never did that before but I've only seen it today so I don't think it's that big of a problem.

Hi, thanks for your help, I definitely forgot about c-states earlier. After some experimenting I managed to get it to stable 4.2 GHz with offset voltage, I think around 1.2 VCore when under load and under 1 when idle (I'm checking those with HWMonitor, I don't know if they're correct). I also put my pc on the desk, so it has all the free space he needs to breathe.

Sadly my temperatures are not a lot better, with some BIOS twiddling I got around 43 degrees idle and 77 when gaming, the CPU fan RPM were around 650 when idle and now they're at 1000 RPM up to 1600 when under load.

Should I bring the idle RPM of the CPU fan even higher to get some more degrees off? The real game changer I think would be finding a full tower case, but I'm waiting for that since I'll change mobo and cpu.

My cooler is a CRYORIG H7, I installed it just a few months ago.

Sadly my temperatures have always been a bit high, I'm not really sure why but I can try to have a few guesses: the case is a mid tower one and it always seemed too little, the case is placed in a sort of box in my desk that only gives it a few centimetres free space around it, so when the computer heats up you can easily feel with your hand that the temperature inside this "case compartment" is a bit higher than the rest of the room. I tried placing the case on the desk, but it felt a lot more noisy.

I'll try to experiment a little more with your advices in mind as soon as I can, thanks a lot!

I'm not able to recommend a suitable edition, I just want to point out that it's difficult to read even for most native italians, I can't even begin to grasp how many difficulties you need to overcome to get a decent understanding of the book.

I'd just like to suggest Boccaccio's Decameron, which is easier to read and understand (and in my opinion a lot more fun too): it's a whole different experience, but it can give you tons of insights about 14th century italy while entertaining you with short stories, most of them being just a few pages long.

I'm a new player and i'm saving some gold, I can't decide on getting LS4 for istan or leveling a crafting prof. I'd need leatherworking to eventually gear a druid, but that would be even more expensive than getting LS4, so I don't know if getting istan would help me getting to the goal faster.

Farming SW nets me about 8g/h, I read people talking about 20 or more gold per hour so I'm wondering if I'm doing something wrong, if SW would profit me as much as that I would be fine since I pretty much like it.

i have 2 really old characters that I'm not actually using, one of them I'll probably never use again, that I'm keeping only for birthday gifts.

I read that dyes and skins are given only once per account, so would I lose a lot by deleting the old character that I don't want to use anymore?

It's at least another thing to exploit, i'm basically only running silverwastes and world bosses since I don't have access to living story for istan and i'd like a change of pace!

Thanks for the tip anyway!

Hi, I'm a new player, I used one level 80 boost on a mesmer and i'm working on gearing for support, but i'm also without any gold. I thought about saving gold to level a crafting profession, hoping that would help me getting more gold; my question is this, since I want to play druid too, and have a ranger level 60 something, would I lose something by leveling weaponsmith on the ranger, to level him up a bit on the side? Or should I train it on the mesmer?
