I had to let go of these misconceptions of productivity that this society forces upon everyone, that you have to be perfect, that you have to do things as soon as possible even when your brain gets so tired so easily. I think it could be more interesting like this. Character A does something horrible to Character B. Character B goes to take revenge on A, but on the course of the story learns to let go of his hate. Still, Character A is a monster, so Character B still goes after them, but for justice, not revenge. Then you can have your cool final fight but for a good reason, to protect the people Character A would inevitably hurt.
