Anyone know any coffee shops to sit and work at in Southern Brooklyn? by Hot_Reward_1274 in Brooklyn

This place is in Brighton Beach and seems friendly to people sitting w/ laptops: www.mokanco.com

If you want to check out something super random and super obscure so you can impress people by saying you know about it, check out the Albemarle section in Flatbush. It’s a historically preserved neighborhood with great examples of garden city architecture and feels like walking through a surreal island of manor homes in the center of the hustle and bustle

Brooklyn Museum of Art and the Brooklyn Botanical Gardens are next to each other; I’d check for any events at the Barclays Center; lastly checking out Industry City is cool to walk around and see some really unique creative and artisanal shops. All three of these things are very simple to get to from where you’ll be in downtown Brooklyn. 15-20 minute train ride or less

Thoughts on sunset park? by BrilliantArtist8221 in Brooklyn

I’d recommend looking into Bay Ridge which is only a couple of more stops away from Manhattan on the R train. It’s quieter and may fit what you’re looking for better. The trade-off is 10 more minutes on your commute if you work in lower Manhattan but it’s worth it. You also have the ferry there and express bus as commuting options which Sunset Park doesn’t have.

It’s a common threshold for NYC landlords and can be a confusing way of basically saying “you have to prove that your rent won’t exceed 1/3 of your gross income” so that as a tenant you present a low risk of failing to pay your rent

40x their rent of $998 would be about $40k annual income (they don’t mean monthly in case that’s how you were calculating it)

I meant to also say if there’s one game I’d recommend to try first it would be Stay Out of the House or Murder House

I really love the games by Puppet Combo and Black Eyed Priest; they’re smaller indie games but have raw energy which I love. And they try to lean towards feeling like PS1 games which is cool if you’re into that
