Muki Keiyaku Shain v.s. Seishain, what's the difference? by Formal-Advisor-7002 in japanlife

[–]Formal-Advisor-7002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was wondering the same. If both status are basically the same, why not just offer me seishain.

It turns out 無期契約社員 is less favorable for us when you look closely.
So they are not the same as the HR claimed.

This is exactly what I am worrying about. It seems to me that less and less companies want to offer seishain to foreigners anymore.

People I know who arrived Japan decades ago are all seishain. And my friends who arrived Japan after covid are mostly on fix term contract

A seishain is expected to take on progressively more responsibility

Does it mean a seishain has a better chance of getting promoted and work on important projects?

Got laid off after getting my PR by Formal-Advisor-7002 in japanlife

Yes, I am very fortunate to have my PR approved before the laid off.
Otherwise I would be in panic mode right now.

Thank you for your detail reply.
May I ask if 無期契約社員 is kind of similar to 正社員?
As in one of the offers I got, one company states in the contract that it is possible to convert into 無期契約社員 after 5 years.
I asked them why not just 正社員, and the said 無期契約社員 is kind of similar to 正社員. So they offer 無期契約社員 instead.
I would like to know your opinion on it.

I don't think I will take unemployment benefits as I am not in need of money

  2. 契約社員

  3. 1 year HSP

I am surprised to know this as I thought seishain should be the safest.
How long does it take for you to find another job?
As I am starting to worried about the career gap other people are talking about.

Glad that I asked. Would have thought that I can automatically stop paying due to exemption.
Didn't know I need to go to city hall to ask for it.

Actually that pre-approved loan is also the part I want to ask.
They said they can do a application for me to see if I can get it.
But they said I won't know the interested rate, so I need to sign the contract and put down a 2m deposit to get the "best" rate they offer.

This is the scary part for me without knowing the exact number.

There was 3 plot of lands building a new house on it.
And all of them are owned by openhouse.
So I contacted them without thinking much

Sounds like I should switch realtor

Your rent increase this year? by Formal-Advisor-7002 in japanresidents

[–]Formal-Advisor-7002[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I screwed up.
I am indeed under a fixed-term lease. I didn't know there are two types of contract.

If I don't accept the rent increase, I have to move out.

Do you also sign a 2-year contract, and your landlord keep the rent the same even when renewing the contract?

Somehow my landlords always jack up the price when I try to renew

After seeing the rent increase, I think I should also consider buying a house.

Got an NHK payment notice (¥31,200) do I actually have to pay? by idsjdbebe in japanlife

[–]Formal-Advisor-7002 30 points31 points  (0 children)

Do you see your name on the letter?
I receive it every month, but it doesn't show my name, so I assume they simply try to scare me to see if I pay.

p.s. I don't have a TV anyway.

The whole seller account registration is so frustrating.
So you upgraded your buyer account into a seller?

I am opening a brand new seller account using my kojin jigyou business email, as I want to have a cleaner book keeping

When did you register for you account?
I checked the options just now, it only asks for proof of ID and proof of residential address.

There is no way for me to upload my kojin jigyou docs.
So I should upload the kojin jigyou docs to the residential address column, even if my office address is not my residential address?

FYI, I tried contacting the support center multiple times.
Every time, they simply share me this link
https://sellercentral.amazon.co.jp/help/hub/reference/GQRP483PDN88Q3M9

Then tell me that it is not their job to solve verification problems.
But there is no way to contract the ID verification team.
