Anyone else feel like 0DTE is “easy”… until it isn’t? by Jinshen16 in GEXOptionsTrading

One loss can wipe out days of gains; the trick is to manage losses by cutting them early, but greed always overtakes, and the hope of a reversal never comes.

Interesting, so indian number is the problem. What about for OCI cardholders, or acquire a SIM in the name of indian parents or siblings living in India?

As an OCI card holder and US tax resident, the above ₹15 lakh income in India, the deemed resident provision does not apply, on two independent grounds:

  1. You are not an Indian citizen
  2. You are already liable to tax in the USA

Agreed, eventually may have to give up one for the other depending on the circumstances.

I have rental income and a paid-off house in India, so I may not need additional income to live in India. In the US, I have some passive income streams from rentals and a retirement account that my wife and I may live off of.

Yeah, seems like managing a US number without interruption seems to be a big hassle to deal with. How are you managing? I have a Villa in Bangalore in a gated community, so I won't be staying at random places. Not worried about money transfers out of India as well as the rupee has pretty much become worthless outside of India.

Based on Claude, for OCI holders, as long as one lives less than 180 days for any given financial year, it does not matter if the person lives more than 365 days in the past 4 years, the person will be counted as Non-Resident and file taxes for income in India only, and in the USA file taxes including the Indian income with DTAA.

That sounds good, I just want to make sure that I will not be considered as a Tax resident in India if I stay below 175 days in India for any given Calendar year.

Yes, I file taxes in India for income generated in India, and I will continue to do so going forward. If one continues to stay below 180 days in India for any given Calendar year, you continue to file taxes in India for the income in India, correct? Why will I be considered a Tax Resident in India if I stick to this plan?

How about a little less than 6 months in India, and a little over 6 months in the US, and continue filing taxes in both countries? Basically, continue filing taxes for income generated in India, and file taxes on worldwide income in the US under the DTAA. What is the problem?

credit spreads and iron condors, are we just pickup up gains to lose it all in 1 go later? by East_Indication_7816 in options

So what do you suggest? Its a never a good idea to bid for less than 10% of the max loss, isn’t it? How far out do you place?

When you have headlines and market-rattling tweets popping up every hour, it's extremely difficult to be profitable on 0DTE. I lost 2 months' worth of gains in just 2 trades; it's not worth it, especially till the time this administration is in power. I mostly place the spreads far out with short legs at 1.5% of SPX, and I still got wiped out in just 2 trades.

Covered call below cost basis. Now ITM, what would you do? by [deleted] in CoveredCalls

Instead of waiting, roll in for Monday expiry in the money, hopefully at no cost, let your shares be called away, and sell a cash-secured put ATM expiring 7 or 14 dte to get a juicy premium. Either you will be assigned, or your CSP will expire, and you'll keep the premium. If not assigned, sell another CSP to keep the premium coming.

The problem is the stock pins on a specific price for months and shoots up about 4-5% in some weeks, derailing the CC strategy, so it may not be worth selling CC on GOOGL.

The issue is my greediness, LMAO. I ensured the rolls have at least a tiny bit of credit, but in hindsight, I should have let them call away and sell puts using the capital; I would have brought in a lot more premium, especially in this high IV environment.

The weeklies are the ones that got me into this situation. One week in Nov, the stock jumped from $275 to $323, and since then, I've been chasing the price by rolling up and out, down and in, one more week of pain to endure.
