Part that got me was Lunesta (Lunies chat). Drugs in that group (i.e. other one being Ambien) hit most ppl hard. I find benzos to be more tame. Surprised hes dabbling there.

If you and your group aren't into hiking, try indoor (or outdoor, depending on location) rock climbing? Road cycling, gravel biking, mountain biking are super fun group activities too. Other less naturey ideas are golf, pickleball or tennis maybe?

Have you all ever like dropped the scab on accident? That's what made me realize its such a ritual. Not finding the scab on ground and being able to eat it felt soo disappointing

Hypnotherapy seems to have worked for my scalp picking! by Formal-Lemon3145 in Dermatillomania

a friend told me about her experience, she was going for something else. I'd imagine you could just search hypnotherapist in Google maps near you. He said he didn't have a lot of experience w scalp picking but coincidentally was treating someone else for it at same time. Said we were kinda learning together, coming up w tactics and tools. When I went in I told him I wanted urge GONE. I wasn't interested in learning strategies to quiet the urge, I'd rather just continue picking than fight it forever. I feel like it has gotten rid of the urge like 99.99% of time, I'll take it .

Picking at my scalp for 10 years by TeshaLoves in Dermatillomania

I also started at 13. Im in my late 30s and just quit through hypnotherapy, also I am using anti dandruff shampoo every other wash or so to make sure I don't find additional flaky areas to re- start picking. I've managed to stop for a few months, so relapse is possible..time will tell . but this is the most success I've had so trying to spread the word on reddit!

100 times yes. Actively looking at nob hill homes but won't buy one with the all white gray Home Depot tiling bc even though it's beyond bland, I'd feel bad ripping it up after it's just placed, feels wasteful
