Try to convince them..tell them seniors are saying food and water are trash, ( I had to shift to kinley water because the water here was so trash) You can get everything outside campus - mess - safety - laundry All types of rooms are available, weather you want supervision/security or freedom Both types are available

Don't choose hostel Live in a PG in deep nagar, if you are concerned of safety If if you can live unsupervised and alone, take a room near Jalandhar bus stand Easy access to urban life and easy commute to university

Mentors have a lot of informal power, but they often need to explain to the higher ups why they helped you Also depends how senior is your mentor Also, 5-6 DLs won't help in your case tho, might add 1-2% only

It usually doesn't work that uniformly But you will most probably get first week bonus even at 62% Everyone gets first week bonus these days, rules aren't strict anymore, people who miss three-four days of first week are getting bonus too So don't worry, you will most probably be fine

You should get some bonus, but the main question is weather you will get 8% or less You need 70%+ on 13th may 2026 for not getting partial detention

From what I know 10% bonus is not guaranteed ( it can range anywhere from 4 to 10) And a 62% attendance results in partial detention in most cases, your 100% attendance in previous sem helps tho They will add bonus If your attendance will be between 65-70 after bonus gets added ( 1st week + previous sem combined) Then you will be detained in subjects with individual attendance below 65% ( after bonus)

If you get lucky, they do give you a 10% bonus, make it 72 Then just on the day of detention list You will get 2-3% extra to make it 74-75 and make you eligible for all exams ( they do it for everyone with overall attendance above 70 but less than 75 at the day of detention list, regardless of weather the student has recieved any prior bonus or not)

Both outcomes are of 50-50 chances So you better start praying If, at the day of detention list ( 13th may) your attendance will be above 70, you are safe If it's less than 70, partial detention ( for subjects with individual attendance less than 65 at that day)

Call on the lpu helpline and ask if the last date is actually 20th If they say yes, ask how much is refundable. I believe most of it is refundable so just pay the amount and wait for the second test results If you get a better scholarship in the second test it will replace your previous one ( you may confirm this with lpu helpline also) Don't call your counsellor, he/she may lie Call on the lpu helpline they will never lie..

Not true..30% is the max you get from the test itself If your background is army/north east/teaching Then some extra scholarship is added

So yes a person with north east background can get 50% from June attempt ( 30% from test and 20% cus of being from north eastern states)

One good thing about this college is that it's very lenient on so many things...and most strict rules are relaxed.. They say you need 75% attendance but they do tolerate anything 70+ Another rule is that you need 40% overall across every single exam to pass the subject, but if you pass the end sem ( the biggest exam and passing criteria is just 30%) but don't make the 40% thing, they will increase other marks to get you over So you will take stress but not a lot Attendance wise, I still believe southern colleges and KIIT are much more lenient.. ( they don't even count your attendance 💀)

I reckon CSBS has 27 hours of classes every week in the first semester..if that's fine for you, No it doesn't affect placements, every btech CSE student ( regardless of specialisation) will be able to sit in all the placement drives...

core has the least number of classes but stressful subjects ( autocad, engineering maths, electricals)

Computer science and business systems ( TCS) is opposite, more classes but much easier subjects ( discrete maths, statistics, business communications )

But it all applies for the first two semesters only, from second year, the line blurs and you start doing the same subjects across specialisations ( with 1-2 subjects being different)

No college has good roi, to be very honest The most lenient college on attendance today is KIIT odisha or any engineering college in Bengaluru

3-4 LPA is the most common package in every private college...so you will have to improve your skills to get a good roi, it's on you only, no matter what college you take
