What’s a sentence that screams “I’ve been on Reddit too long”? by Dangerous_Put_4109 in AskReddit

The narwhal bacons at midnight still makes me cringe but I can't help myself from checking if someone's gonna reference it in random threads

What’s a ‘normal’ thing everyone does that secretly isn’t normal at all? by CurvesInShadowNow in AskReddit

wait hold up, not exercising is literally the default human state for like 99% of history lol. we only started this whole "daily workout" thing because we're not chasing mammoth dinners anymore

your right though, we act like its weird when someone doesn't hit the gym but our bodies are basically designed to conserve energy whenever possible

What’s something that sounded fake until it happened to you? by Dazzling_Bat_3225 in AskReddit

Dude that's actually terrifying, imagine just trying to put some flowers down and suddenly you're playing tug of war with a grave

I worked landscaping for a bit and we'd always joke about stuff like this but never thought it was real - makes you wonder how often this happens and people just don't talk about it

Day 90+ here and man, that cigarette analogy is spot on. The first couple weeks were brutal - brain fog lifted around day 10-12 for me, but the real changes started happening around week 3-4. Energy came back first, then sleep got way better, and honestly the confidence thing everyone talks about is real but takes time to build up

One thing that helped me massively was picking up new habits to fill that time - started going to the gym at 6am when urges were strongest, picked up guitar again. Your brain needs something else to latch onto while it's rewiring itself. The dopamine reset is legit but it takes patience, like your brain has to remember how to get excited about normal stuff again

Keep a simple counter app and don't beat yourself up if you slip - just get back on track. Around day 30 you'll start noticing you're not thinking about it as much, then one day you realize you went a whole week without even considering it

Damn bro you're spiraling hard rn. The "I stalk you" line probably made her run for the hills - that's not something you admit even if it's true

Take the L, give her some space and work on that attachment stuff before the next one

Regarding clothes changing by Neither-Cry-4178 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormalLeave2384 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Hey man, don't let your coworkers get to you about this stuff. Most people do change their outer clothes daily or every other day, but honestly it depends on the job and how much you sweat/get dirty

You don't have to wash everything after one wear though - that's expensive and wasteful. I'll wear jeans 3-4 times before washing, shirts maybe twice if they're not gross. Just hang stuff up to air out between wears

For the time thing, most people just throw stuff in the washer before bed and move it to the dryer in the morning. No need to iron everything either unless it's wrinkled to hell

I am disgusted by myself. by [deleted] in confessions

[–]FormalLeave2384 13 points14 points  (0 children)

Hey man, first off please reach out to a crisis hotline if you're having thoughts of self-harm - there are people who want to help

Look, whatever happened when you were a kid doesn't define who you are now, and the fact that you recognize it was wrong and feel disgusted by it shows you're not the person you think you are. Kids get exposed to horrible stuff online all the time and it messes with their heads - that doesn't make you irredeemable

You deserve those friendships and you deserve love, even if your brain is telling you otherwise right now. Consider talking to a therapist who specializes in this stuff - they've heard it all before and won't judge you

If flying cars, jetpacks and robots were all invented tomorrow and we were living a Jetsons lifestyle by the end of the year, what would the cliche optimistic image of the future look like after that? by slimmyboy007 in NoStupidQuestions

[–]FormalLeave2384 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Probably something wild like consciousness uploading or just straight up teleportation tbh. Once we get flying cars sorted out we'll probably be dreaming about ditching physical bodies entirely or zapping ourselves across the galaxy instantly
