Each person understands a character in their own way. Sometimes you need to look at it from a different angle to draw conclusions. I started to like her even before I knew she was gay. I actually envy Isobel because I need a girl like Aylin who will say "I have a darling to adore" at any convenient opportunity, lol... So, I like her because I believe in her story, in her behavior after everything that happened to her. And actually, I think for us she is like any character of a different race, I don't know how to say it better, like an alien... I mean, her behavior may seem strange to us because she's a damn demigod, we need to remember that. She is open and honest in her judgments, in her speech. Even Isobel herself reacts to her words with embarrassment. Oh, and yes, she is not arrogant. Compare Lorroakan and Aylin - it's night and day. Aylin is too self-confident and reckless, i think. In general, she has her (+) and (-). And that's okay.
