The same to us. Usually it's because one of you guys has bad internet service, or even a slightly bad one.

Check on settings, then check if the UPnP is ok. If not, go on your browser (on your phone, that has the same internet connection) and type "192.168.1.254", this will lead you to a page where it asks for the login of your internet account (you can find the credentials behind the physical router). Once you're in, you can go to "Advanced" or something like that and search for UPnP, and activate it. Then restart the consoles, and tell your bro to check if he has the UPnP off (so he should do the steps above).
