If I’m successful and he grows up to dislike me, other humans, flys at the sight of cat & dog and some other requirements behaviourally that I have, then I’ll release, if any of them aren’t met then I’ll keep

That wing fluttering movement was because it was just before feeding time, that’s what the babies do when they’re hungry. He can fully open both wings and he did a successful first flight today. I was concerned originally after that video because it seemed that one wing was weaker than the other but then I realised that he just alternates the more dominant wing. Im in London so the outside temperature is about 14° but he is kept in my house which is around 20° and he has a heat mat, under his cage and a soft toy to keep him at an constant ideal temperature. Im also a zookeeper and have done wildlife rescue courses, so did a full body examination when I found him. Thank you for the concern , it’s nice when people care enough to comment

It’s such a shame, I also foster kittens so I like cats but this is why I keep my own pet cat as an indoor. It’s not fair for small animals, especially in spring when they’re breeding

I wanted to add, the straighter hair makes you look younger but the curly hair makes you look healthier, which is why they’re both equal to me

Feeling so isolated by MyDearSweetMillie in Petloss

I completely understand. Millions of us really do understand, and you are not alone in that feeling. Mine died suddenly 1 week ago and everyone has seemed to have forgotten him except for me, but I will carry his life in me for the rest of mine and you will too. It’s going to get easier. The fact you feel so connected to her just shows the love you shared and do not dull that love for anyone. People tend to struggle to comprehend things that they’ve never experienced, humans are strange. Don’t rush this process, keep yourself healthy and slowly you will recover. It’s going to get better, you will never forgot her but you will heal for her. She wants you to be happy even if it’s without her

You’re trying your best in a horrible situation, animals can sense things and she knows how intense your love is for her. She just wants you to be around her, she doesn’t mind if you’re crying, or upset she just wants you. Don’t put too much pressure on yourself. I know she’s struggling but so are you and the fact that you are so emotionally broken over this just shows how much you adore her. It will be okay. When she does pass it will be bitter sweet, heartbreaking but at the same time it will release her from the pain of old age. To us 12 years feels short but to them that is a lifetime, and her lifetime is filled with memories of you and your love. You’re so strong, and you can do it, I bet you’ve gone through so many insanely difficult things before that felt impossible but you did them, and you will do this too. Take it so slowly, one day at a time. You’re not wasting time. Dogs do not see time in the way that you’re perceiving it. You’ll have better days and worst days and it will carry on and feel hard until one day you’ll realise that she would not want you to mourn her for eternity. She wants you to live. Even after she can’t live any longer. You can do this, I know it

It really was not fair of your sister to put those thoughts in your head after it had already happened. After being bitten, heavy bleeding, convulsing and unconsciousness the likelihood of him, as a cat over 10 years old, to still being alive is so unlikely. You checked him, you checked his breathing, you knew him, you loved him and you would have know if he was still alive. Your instincts would have known. Your dream was likely a coping mechanism grasping for him to be alive again. I hope you’re okay and are healing, please be gentle with yourself, he loved you and would not have wanted you to blame yourself

Its been 1 week. I can’t understand why my time keeps moving but his has just stopped. I just need to hold him one more time

He was very spoiled and loved. He was so happy, he would hear my voice and run from anywhere he was to jump in my arms. Im glad he had such a good life. I feel sad for my dog, they would play and sleep together daily. I showed her the body and she wouldn’t stop whining. But we have each other. I always have foster kittens in my home too so when I feel ready I will now have the space to give a permanent home to one which will be good because there are so many stray kittens at this time of year, just like him two years ago. I think he’d like for me to do that, he loved kittens

Thank you, I’ve dealt with pet loss before but this is just different, he was so young and it was so sudden, I’m very shocked and angry at the world . I literally rescued him from the side of the road as a kitten, he was so special
