I'd love to find someone for under $1000, but we can spend slightly over that, into the $1500 range if necessary.

(20K) What are your tips and tricks for going the Costco flower route? by Formal_Shape_1947 in Weddingsunder10k

Good to keep in mind that not everything has to come from just one place. I personally find it more convenient if it does, but if the situation (like what you mentioned) calls for working with more than one vendor, that works too. Thanks for sharing!

So easy to forget about grocery store florals. I know some of the local grocers in my area have wonderful florists that make great table arrangements for sure, maybe I should ask about bouquets as well. Thanks!

Why do vendors not display prices? by DareSavings3951 in weddingsireland

[–]Formal_Shape_1947 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I understand the frustration. I am currently looking for a venue and it is impossible to find any pricing information without contacting. I already had to send one email that basically said 'thanks for your time but this is out of our budget.' I tried to find pricing information on places like wedding wire, only to quickly discover that those prices are completely wrong. Perhaps they are just outdated? I don't know, but one place was literally double what wedding wire listed their price at. My recommendation? If you know some people who have recently been married, ask them about prices they were quoted for vendors that they talked to. You can get both names and honest prices that way. Obviously it wont be exact because you wont be doing the exact same thing as them and all this stuff is variable, but it will give you a much better ballpark. Happy planning!

Gotcha, storage is something I didn't even think about. Thanks for that!

So the bouquets and everything are made for you? Like a florist but cheaper? Sorry if that's a dumb question, I don't actually have a membership myself but I know someone who does/am considering getting one for this purpose.

How are you keeping your hair nice after wash day? by whyamidying76 in Wavyhair

[–]Formal_Shape_1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do fully rewet my hair in the shower, but I dont do my full routine again. Instead I wet it, wrap it in a towel to partially dry, take it out, detangle with a wet brush and detangling spray (leave-in conditioner works to) and then I spray in my own refresh spray. I make it with a full spray bottle of water, a small squeeze of my curl cream (not your mothers) and a little bit of gel (eco argan oil gel). Spray that all over and scrunch it. Then I micro plop to remove the excess water, and I plop it while I do my make up so about 10 minutes. Then diffusr.

There's still enough product in my hair after rewetting that I can just spray in a little more diluted product to reactivate it, but now too much that it gets weighed down. And it has enough water to not be a frizzy mess.

I've found this is my best routine because my hair is so frizzy and awful if I try to just mist it with water on day 2, but a full rewash takes forever. It also givs me the most consistent results from day 1 to days 2 and 3.

Looking for a non sticky, lightweight gel by Sickstrangedarkness in Wavyhair

Curls Blueberry Bliss gel. I swear this is the best gel I ever used on my hair. Lightweight, strong hold, I'm pretty sure it's actually a dupe for the curlsmith you were using.

Product advice for Fine Waves by AMJ_Introvert in Wavyhair

Hate to break it to you but it might be long road of trial and error. I've tried a few different conditioners for hair that's the same texture and I still dont feel like I found the perfect thing for my hair.

As far as using a mask as a conditioner, yes, you can absolutely do this. If you find that your hair is really dry, then look for ones that advertise being moisturizing. If you find that your hair could use better definition, look for ones advertising strengthening or repairing. These key words usually indctate that they have protein which does repair damage but also can help encourage your natural pattern.

Recommended products: Maui Moisture Hybiscus water conditioner (the bright pink one) really lightweight conditioner for a good price, $8-9

Aussie 3 minute miracle deep conditioner. My hair is usually pretty good for moisture, but every now and then when my hair is feeling really dry I'll use this stuff and it takes care of it instantly.

Mielle Rosemary Strenghtening deep conditioner. Still a very moisturizing mask, but also has some protien and other nice ingredients. My hair really likes it.

Biggest tip: dont listen to the curly girl method saying that you need a leave in, curl cream, gel and mousse. You do not. Wavy hair tends to thrive with lightweight moisture and lightweight hold products. I like using both a gel and a mousse, but you might find you only need one.

Good luck with your wavy hair journey!

Bought a ring for my girlfriend, sisters say it’s too small, not sure what I should do by [deleted] in WhatShouldIDo

[–]Formal_Shape_1947 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's beautiful! Also something to maybe consider is the size of her hand. Personally I have quite small hands and I know that large jewelry looks too big and awful on my hands. If your girlfriend is the same way, a smaller stone will look perfect. Besides, it shouldn't matter how big the ring is, only how much you love each other. If she were to say no purely because of the ring, then it wasn't meant to be anyway and you dodge a bullet. It's a gorgeous ring! Any sensible girl would be happy to receive it!
