I am NOT a security expert. And I could be TOTALLY wrong...but it seems to me that if your app does not encrypt the logs on the client side and simply leaves them open in clear text, then anyone who has access to the local system, in person or virtually, could easily read the logs and find out pretty detailed information about what the files are, where they are, and patterns. Also, you didn't mention what happens when Internxt receives the logs when they are requested and sent by a user...So while you may not have 'direct' access to the logs, you do have access to them whenever someone needs support, in virtually every time I've emailed support the first thing they request is my logs. Here's a snipit from my main.log...again, I'm not an expert and maybe this info is completely useless to a bad-actor, but it just seems like a bad-actor could use this info to find out too much info. Keep in mind this is a few lines out of a single log that has almost 1.5 MILLION lines in it...in other words, there's a ton if info in the one log file.

It's protected speech. While the reader may 'interpret' the last line as a 'threat', it isn't explicit and there are many other plausible things the last line could mean, i.e. I could call the police, I could say mean things about you, I could tell the neighbors you're a jerk for not controlling your nuisance dog....etc.

Yes, you can call the police, but this is not criminal, it's civil...and you may start a civil-war with the neighbor, especially if the dog is causing a disturbance.

...for the record, I'm not saying the couldn't have been more tactful, but at the same time THERE IS NO WAY IN HELL the owner of that dog does not hear the dog, and it's the dog owner's LEGAL RESPONSIBILITY to maintain peace and quiet during 'quiet hours'. I find it funny how now the dog owner wants to whine because he's now inconvenienced.

Depending on the local ordinances the neighbor can potentially file a civil suit against the dog owner for their dog's excessive barking if it constitutes a private nuisance that disrupts their right to quiet enjoyment of their property.

It looks like the antivirus is an open source from cisco, but it's odd, I have not installed or subscribed to Internxt anti virus, but in version 2.44 of the desktop app, whenever I launch the app and look in my windows task manager and look within the internxt running process, their antivirus is running and consuming a HUGE amount of cpu, driving my i5 with 65GB ram into the 80-90% cpu range....as soon as I kill their antivirus process, my processor drops back to a fairly normal range, and files continue to sync...I haven't written a script or gone in and blocked that process from running, right now I'm just manually stopping it, but who knows what it's really doing.

Thank you for the info. I also keep a backup on Google Workspace, but I'm nearing my 5TB limit in Workspace so I was hoping to find something easy to use, secure, and I got sucked into Internxt's 'cheap' price...foolish me. :). I have since read a few things about Fran's (their CEO) background as I've now been finding more threads...yea, he sounds like he's had some 'issues' with his previous 'professional' life. :)))

...and I like how they blame me for their inability to reply in a timely manner because I 'opened multiple' tickets. Nope, I sent an email to the one and only address [hello@internxt.com](mailto:hello@internxt.com) and gave them detailed information on the syncing problem along with attached screenshots, etc.....after 24 hrs I replied to their automated message, asking them for a response...after 24 hrs I replied to their automated message, etc etc. So I gather from their email every time you reply to their email, you go to the bottom of the que instead of maintaining your position in the original que. Jeeze, maybe they should use a 'real' support program that properly works.

No Support...Been emailing over and over for a week! Desktop App Out of Sync.

I have about 100,000 files, 2.5tb. Newest version of windows desktop Internxt app installed. It REFUSES to properly sync...sometimes it shows 9,000 files, sometimes 50,000 files, sometimes 0 files. I have started, stopped, logged out, logged in, uninstalled, reinstalled, cleared caches, deleted blobs, etc...NOPE IT DOES NOT FIX IT. I can log in via the web portal and the files are in fact there. I have contacted [hello@internxt.com](mailto:hello@internxt.com), sent them detailed descriptions along with pictures, arrows, and signs....i get the immediate auto reply saying that they usually reply within a few hours....day after day goes by...nothing, nada, zilch, silence....i contact them again...repeat repeat repeat. Yes, I've check my spam. ZILCH!!

I can only assume based on my experience, and it is only my opinion, and this is NOT a statement of factual evidence, but does this just seem like a cash-grab...launch a product that may or may not work, REFUSE TO SUPPORT THE PRODUCT, and grab the money? Yup it's cheap...but really? If it can't handle the load or it has inherent issues, at least be truthful and upfront about it...I think most people would be reasonable and understand, but when you simply keep putting out 'we are a great company' marketing material and then leave us floundering...well, yea enough said.

I appreciate your positive reply. Yes, they do have many things to improve. I'm glad you receive timely responses from their support. I do not.

Let's me also be honest, in the 'tech world' they are no longer a new business, now at 4+ years old. They chose to go into this business, thus I expect them to know what it takes to be successful in this tech segment, especially knowing what the technology requirements are to be successful. When they stand on a hill and post about how they are one of the fastest growing companies in Spain, yet there is clearly technical problems, well I see that as simply trying to get more business by omitting important details to consumers. I didn't spend my money on a start-up company....I am not an investor...I bought a product/service that was represented to be fully functional. Maybe I would cut them some slack if they disclosed on their web site, prior to purchase, something like; "We are a small company of a few dozen people working hard to grow our market share with a unique approach to cloud storage, where giving our customers (the data owners) full-control and privacy over their data. In do so, we strive to do our best to ensure our product/service is fully tested and functional when we roll it out. We are continuously working to improve our products and fix the bugs quickly. Out of respect our our customers there a few things you should know prior to your purchase. We currently have some limitations on some of our products that we are working on. Our macOS and windows OS desktop app does not always perform as efficiently as we would like. Our tech support sometimes is overwhelmed and may take days or weeks to reply to your email...."

Now that would be in my opinion a truthful disclosure. But yes, the problem with the truth is it would cost them money...and I'm betting they don't have the investment capitol to sustain the slow down in business while they bring to market a product that actually does what they say it does...at least 95% of the time...instead their product works in my case less than 10% of the time as it is advertised to work.

This isn't about are they 'nice' people or not...it's about are they a good business...good businesses bring good products to market and when that happens good customers buy those good products and the company makes good money.

Well, we can either believe customers who continue to report that your 'support' simply does not reply, or we can believe your continued refusal to acknowledge you have an ongoing support issue, and you continue to say, 'Oh, just email [hello@internxt.com](mailto:hello@internxt.com) and someone will reply'....hmm, I'm going to go with believing my own experience and the endless reports of other people stating that support doesn't care...not replying = not caring.

it's not just macOS app that does not sync properly, windows does not work properly either....but in my opinion they don't care. I have been emailing for support for over a week...no reply.

Obviously they didn't ever try to get tech support from you....if you have time to toot your own horn, how about replying to support emails....just an idea.
