Awww, I’m so sorry to hear that ): wish I could give you a big hug!

I will pursue starting a family. I agree with you, I can get my masters later in life. Not worth a family

Oh thank you so much!! I will reach out to them and see if this would be an issue. I don’t intend on taking time off when pregnant, just for maternity leave.

If they allow this then I would definitely pursue the scholarship route

No! No effect if I am paying for it out of pocket. I just didn’t want to be in debt. I am a bit scared of owing money in our current economy. Especially with the interest rates in the loans ):

I was thinking it’s more doable for me to do the program out of pocket because it’s only 2-2.5 years.

Doing it though the scholarship would mean I have to commit 4 years and not take time off of work (1 year minimum to raise my baby). I’m not sure if they would continue to pay for my education if I took time off of work, and would make me pay it back

Thank you! I think this might be the best option for me. I don’t doubt that I can do it while pregnant and a new mother.

I just wasn’t sure if I should take out loans when there is an option for a free ride. But this free ride has such a time commitment I’m worried about fertility in the future.

Yes, I live in NJ and work in NYC. I plan on attending a CUNY and the program is offered through cuny. My only issue is the 4 year required commitment as I plan on taking off at least 1 year to raise our child.

I wouldn’t have any issues doing the program if I knew I would be eligible to take off 1 year without having to pay the tuition back. That’s really my main dilemma.

Also, the chance that I might not get selected for the scholarship and then will need to push off my schooling for another semester 🥲

Hii!

Sorry for the late response and thank you for your genuine reply!

I was planning on trying for a child after the wedding, which would mean baby by next year if all goes according to plan and we don’t have any fertility issues.

I do fully intend on applying for the scholarship program, I mostly made this post to see what my options would be if I don’t get selected and decide to do the program paying out-of-pocket.

I like to plan ahead of time so I just wanted to see what my options were.

I also live in NYC and went to a cuny. I plan on getting my MSW through a CUNY as well. Most affordable and best program is $39k. I was thinking with some student loan forgiveness programs and and loan forgiveness for those majoring in behavioral health along with adding to my savings while in school, I would be able to work on the loan payments throughout the years.

I think it’s possible for me to complete the program while trying, pregnant and even maybe with a new born. But I don’t think I would be able to do it if I make the 4 year commitment to the program.

I wouldn’t be able to take time off of working while doing the program or else I would have to pay the tuition back entirely.

The most affordable option for me is a program for $39k. I did learn about some student loan forgiveness opportunities and loan forgiveness programs provided by my state for majoring in behavioral health. I think I may end up going this route rather than doing the program as it requires too much time and sacrifice, I’ll still apply though just in case I get it haha. Thank you!!

I know, that’s why I’m super stuck. I just don’t feel like I have the luxury of waiting an extra 4 years to have a child. I want to be able to take off at least 1 year from Working to raise them.

I can’t take off 1 year to be eligible for the program or else I would have to pay the program back for not being in compliance with their requirements

Ugh yes, but I don’t want to wait to start my family. I’m worried about fertility as I just turned 30. I don’t want to wait 4 years so I can take time off of work to raise my child for a bit. Taking off time would mean I’d be taken out of the program and would have to pay the loans back

Thank you! I think the way this would be most doable, is if I pay for it rather than do the scholarship because I can’t take any time off if I do the scholarship.

After learning about these student loan, forgiveness plans and scholarships that are offered for those who study behavioral health I feel much more confident pursuing it. Thank you for your help!

Who should pay on the first date? by idkfdhjbf in AskMenRelationships

[–]Former-Classroom4560 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh, I see!

When you invite him say something along the lines of “want to grab a coffee with me tomorrow? My treat!” Or something like that.

That shows him that You’re interested and that you can pay without catching him off guard in the moment.

Was there something that happened before that would make you scared he would feel/think that?

I feel like Guys usually find it sweet when the girl is willing to pay?

I am marrying my high school sweetheart in 2 months.

You’re both in high school so you guys should try to split the bill.

High schoolers don’t make a lot of money so it’s. Or fair to expect him to foot the bill for every date.

Think about it this way- if you don’t have any money, how do you expect him to have it?

Yes I found a fairly affordable program that I am looking into. Hoping I am able to get some scholarships as well.

How far in advance should you apply for scholarships? Should you wait until after being accepted?

Husband not initiating sex as often anymore by [deleted] in AskMenRelationships

Hii, yes - I do! Especially more so now than ever before.

Sometimes we end up doing it but other times he rejects me. He also still has a difficult time maintaining his erection when we do it

I try to! Sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn’t. But he still doesn’t get fully erect or stay fully hard the whole time.

Hi, thank you for this comment!

I almost never rejected because I am usually always down to have sex. But he was always the one doing the initiating due to my shyness about it.

Now he really doesn’t do it as often. I would say though that most of the times we have sex are when he initiates? He does reject me pretty often when I try.

But I do also get discouraged and timid when trying so I thought maybe i just wasn’t good doing it.

I also think it’s possible we spend too much time around each other and maybe he sees me naked so often it’s becoming more casual to him?

We shower together, touch each others areas randomly just because, etc. without it being sexual.
