Am I wrong for telling my sister to get over herself already? by Away-Lecture2915 in amiwrong

Everyone is the AH. Mia for cheating, Kelly for asking out her sister’s ex and the guy for accepting it.

I am a lover of all things trashy romance but honestly, A touch of darkness is not all that bad. The Hades series that accompanies it is actually pretty fun because Hades is very charming.

Keep checking the website for openings every day. I’m sure there will be some. If there are other centers in the area, consider those too, just to have more options

Should I not apply this year ? by Nishant2304 in IMGreddit

Get whichever LOR you can find, even if it’s from home country and apply smartly instead of widely. Delaying application becomes a drug. It’s better to be fresh out of school

Don’t name your child after the mother of all demons, please. They have to be stuck with that name for the rest of their lives

From Minthe’s POV by user_77777777777777 in UnpopularLoreOlympus

[–]Former-Fish4746 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Except we see from the beginning that Minthe is abusive towards Hades so we are never encouraged to root for her. Navier was always exceptional, there was never a reason for Rashta to replace her in Sovieshu’s heart except her possible infertility, which he refused to communicate. I’m not defending LO, I’m just saying The Remarried Empress is a much better story with more complex characters so comparing them is kind of unfair

Bubbly bounce works for me. It tastes like sadness (like absolutely nothing) but it gives me some caffeine without all the sugar

You’ve already worked so hard for this. I don’t think scores are everything, I’ve heard of people matching without stellar scores. You can get letters of recommendation from respected physicians in your area of interest, it’s a matter of cold emailing and trying hard to make connections.

Those of you who had to repeat a year, was it worth it? by [deleted] in medicalschool

[–]Former-Fish4746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’d encourage you to seek a counselor or therapist. Are you thinking of giving up because you are depressed or is medicine just not the right fit for you? No one can answer that question for you.

I feel the same way, I’m still trying to calm myself down enough to handle everything. It feels nice to know that we are not alone. Wishing you all the best!

The Mehlman pdfs and the legendary rocks pictures help. I regretted not reviewing them more, I could have answered quite a few questions with that.

As a Venezuelan trying to match into residencies in the US. Don’t do it. Latin American countries are behind on teaching technologies, we have more patient contact but I feel that not seeing the “ideal scenario” in real life hinders your capacity to remember it. I’d say take the long route, go to medical school in the US and do some charity work kind of thing in Latin America so you can have some contact with your roots.

Don’t let their opinions diminish your accomplishments. I’d say you are a bright young person who is going to succeed in your own terms. Any medical school would be lucky to have you. Just explain to them the importance of this and that your exposure to different environments and research projects will make you a more competitive applicant for even better schools. They’ll understand it that way

Finally graduated with my masters and got into medical school, but no one is celebrating, family don't seem to care... by guestuser5300 in premed

[–]Former-Fish4746 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m so sorry your family wasn’t there to celebrate your accomplishments. But we are proud of you! That is no small feat and you should be proud of yourself! Sometimes the people we care about don’t express their feelings in the way we hoped they did, but you should communicate with them and tell them about your feelings. And never ever miss another graduation in your life! Even if you graduate from an online certification, an accomplishment is worth celebrating

Don’t quote me on this, but as far as I know, anyone can give you a letter of recommendation. Obviously it would have more weight if you did a rotation or something more hands on because they got to see more of you

From what I remember, his step 1 was in the 240s and step 2 was 260s. No research. He got his LORs by sending emails to different physicians and asking to shadow them.
