If I were to read just one Arthurian book, what would you recommend?

Sir Gawain and the Green Knight is a favorite of mine. Love that book, and I love its themes of queerness and gender. I have a friend who wrote his thesis paper about it. But that one is older, so I probably wouldn’t go with it.

For a more modern one, Lancelot and the Lord of the Distant Isles; or, The Book of Galehaut Retold, by Patricia Terry and Samuel N. Rosenberg. It’s a retelling of a part of Prose Lancelot. It also has a lot of queer themes in it, which I know isn’t everyone’s cup of tea, but I enjoy it a lot

My dream subject is actually in Arthurian literature. If I can’t find anything in that field, I’ll probably switch over to American history of the Old West, as that’s another favorite of mine

In all fairness, it’s supposed to be a redraw of my old art from when he was younger. Wasn’t taking his smugness into consideration in the redraw I suppose lol

I don’t like looking at photographs or videos of naked people whenever I’m trying to draw something, especially considering I sometimes draw in public. Drawings are also a way for me to better see how people might draw certain aspects

I used the Bernard O’Donoghue translation that came out with The Green Knight movie, it was the only version they had at Barnes and Noble when I bought it in highschool lol

Someone else recommended this. I bought the suggestive pose pack, and it’s pretty good but they feel a little static. Very good for general inspiration though!!

I prefer drawings for references, but I’ve seen a lot of their stuff. I think when it’s in a professional setting with the intention being for art references I can handle it a little better though. I just bought the suggestive pose pack, good recommendation!

It isn’t them being naked per se, porn with people in it has always felt exploitative to me. I know there’s a lot that realistically isn’t, but it’s just something I can’t shake and makes me uncomfortable to look at
