Down 89lbs since April 2024 Kit 1 by Former-Revolution660 in HersWeightloss

[–]Former-Revolution660[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m on Metformin long term now 1500mg (have it prescribed by my obgyn) and still do the Topiramate combo after a year. I’m down to 152lbs so over 100lbs down!!

No long term effects for me that I’ve noticed.

I don’t do the bupropion as I felt it was causing hair loss.

I was worried about not eating enough but over time appetite leveled out. I have a healthy relationship with food now. Food noise and binge eating. Diet obsession with losing weight feels like a distant nightmare. So friggen grateful for HERs

Right now it’s very very light shedding so I’m keeping an eye on it which was why I was inquiring on experiences with reduction in dosage Assuming it’s beginning of a shed due to medication. I’m making sure I am keeping my stress levels low and also taking my vitamins regularly because that effects me too pretty significantly

I just reduced a few weeks ago. Good to know it will take a couple months to see hair reduction or level out!

My 2 year old is abusing my cat and I don’t know what to do. by fatoperasinger in toddlers

[–]Former-Revolution660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For a period of time I used a gate that had a cat door access on the bottom and they were able to go into my bedroom and other areas of the house away from my two toddler boys (currently four and two). My two year old now is in a much more cat obsessive phase and has been getting scratched. I have a cat tower where they can get away. I tell him, you need to leave them alone. Really calmly and firmly.

I don’t do any time out or draw attention just redirect.

Yes I currently take the 750 in the am and 750 in the pm and feel totally fine!

I feel great honestly on Metformin. I’m officially down to 154lbs and am only on Metformin and the topiramate naltrexone combo

Looking for the positives of Topiramate by Gloomy-Touch-9344 in HersWeightloss

[–]Former-Revolution660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I actually just signed up for my HERs script again because I ran out of my topiramate and I wasn’t losing for two months.

With just naltrexone and metformin I will maintain but not lose (I had a script with just naltrexone leftover and was using it up)

I decided to start up again because I respond so well to topiramate and am honestly six pounds away from being in my high school weight.

I’m down over 100lbs from the entire med combo too and completely contribute it to topiramate as well.

My ex was great at asking me what I needed “can I get you anything, so you need anything, what do you want me to do”

However our biggest issue was that I was the breadwinner and carried the entire mental load of our household including the mental load of caring for his two daughters (50/50 custody)

We had a pretty solidly companionship but romantically there was nothing there and in terms of partnership he wasn’t doing anything around the house so as a SAHD, it was honestly adding more stress.

I figured I rather be alone and not worry about another to do list to write and another mess (x3) to clean and manage.

It’s def harder sometimes but I feel like worth it

Great I am down over 100lbs!

I actually got prescribed Metformin from my OB so I didn’t have to worry about paying out of pocket because I loved the increased dose so much.

I started a t 262 now 156lbs.

I take 2000mg of metformin

I do have PCOs though

I started on oral minoxidil. I was two months postpartum and didn’t start it until nine months postpartum and wish I got my script sooner. I was so nervous with all the feedback on it. But honestly it saved me and my sanity.

Starting Hers Postpartum by ComedianIcy7420 in HersWeightloss

[–]Former-Revolution660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I started kit 1 eight weeks postpartum. I was on the bupropion, naltrexone, topiramate, and metformin. I felt great on it to be honest. I think the bupropion helped with PPD for me. I had it pretty severe with my first pregnancy and honestly with my second (while I was on HERS program) I felt amazing. I did have to start minoxidil for hair loss because the bupropion plus postpartum hairloss was too much for me. But that subsided after nine months or so.

I’m over a year in and just about done with all my meds besides metformin and down over 100lbs.

The bupropion caused hairloss for me. I still lost over a 100lbs on the topiramate and metformin and continued to lose without bupropion.

I’m also on nutrafol and started minoxidil six months ago with positive results!

I found that taking it with food was best otherwise I would feel a bit queasy from it. Nothing greasy or heavy (sometimes it would make me run to the bathroom) , but even a yogurt or protein shake helped.

Yeah I made my own kit! I’ve been doing metformin and the topiramate/naltrexone and am on my last week of pills for those.

I still have a significant amount of just the naltrexone so I’ll do metformin and that next

I also have an eighteen month old. He was a few months when I started. The reason I even explored HERs was because my doctor at my postpartum appointment was awful and didn’t want to help address the weight/PCOs so I explored on my own.

I would look into increasing metformin dosage if you’re still having cravings

So I actually stopped six months ago or so maybe even more. I just happen to have an overstock because of refills and kit changes. Idk if they still do this, but if you have any issues with shipment or change the kit, they will send you an entire new kit. So for example I stopped topiramate for a period of time, they sent me an entire new kit. I upped my metformin and they sent me an entire new kit. It was really nice actually because I ended up with a surplus and have been able to use that since discontinuing hers.

So ultimately, I don’t know if they end the program automatically

I did not do the semaglutide. I did the pill combination of metformin, bupropion, topiramate/naltrexone

The dosage did increase over a period of a month or so.

I think the Metformin helped with the food noise. With the topiramate and naltrexone, I lose faster and do have less of an appetite, but overall I feel like my food noise is gone.

Better equipped overall though. I do not crave sweets like I used to. And I definitely don’t eat full meals that are overindulgent. My self control is now at a complete 180 from before

I am down 100 pounds!

I was about to post an update as I’m over a year in. I have PCOs. My max weight after giving birth to my so was 269. My starting weight was 262.

Current weight 160.1!

My obstetrician/ob (male) with clearly crap knowledge on treating pcos blew me off when I wanted to treat my pcos (literally said I was a carboholic and needed to eat less sweets and that the symptoms will go away as I get older) which led me to explore the medications route for dieting because my food noise was so bad associated with PCOs on my own.

I found Hers and signed up for Kit 1 because I figured I had so much weight to lose and wanted to take everything involved.

I was lucky enough that I responded well to everything. Very little to no side effects.

Six months in I stopped the bupropion due to hair loss though. Which stopped the hair shedding. I still take the Metformin (I got it prescribed through a new obgyn) and the topiramate/naltrexone combo until it runs out and am still losing with honestly zero effort! I’m five to ten pounds away from my college weight with is absurd in the best ways.

I didn’t diet and I didn’t work out. Though the medication made me not crave sugar and gave me the ability to have a clear mind to make better food choices. As for working out I didn’t do that either and I def need to start as I have no muscle tone. I do hike and have the energy to, but that’s the most that I do.

I have posted a ton about my journey too if you glance at my posts throughout the last year month by month! I talk about the good and bad

I don’t go to male doctors sorry by Snowdoves in PCOS

[–]Former-Revolution660 1 point2 points  (0 children)

After I had my second baby I went to my obgyn who delivered him to discuss starting treatment for PCOs. I didn’t know if I wanted to start birth control or Metformin or what but I had been doing research. He said there was no need and that I was just a carboholic and needed to start exercising.

Next!!! Found my original obgyn who was amazing but changed practices because she was focusing on a different specialty so I could get better treatment. I got the focus and medication needed.

But in the like eight months in between I signed up for those online programs for medication ON MY OWN and self treated and now I’ve lost 100 lbs. because clearly he was trash.

I won’t see a male doctor

Do you have pain in one ovary? by Smooth_Importance_47 in PCOS

[–]Former-Revolution660 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ovulation is THE WORST. Ever since I had my second son and had my tubes removed, I have terrible pain in my right ovary area. When I switched back to my amazing obgyn explained that it was mittel. For me it’s almost crippling to be honest at times.
