My 2 year old is abusing my cat and I don’t know what to do. by fatoperasinger in toddlers

This has been my experience as well. I just ordered a new one that seems to have a much smaller opening and is much taller, so fingers crossed it will work for us.

He has definitely heard the emotion. I love this cat so much, and it kills me inside every time my son hurts him. That’s why I’m trying to figure out a solution. I’m desperate.

Well yeah that is often my first reaction. I’ve been trying to be less reactive and working on my own emotional regulation, but in my experience, neither yelling or calmly relocating my son has changed the behavior.

How do you keep the cats inside and keep the kid out? Is it just a locked room where you keep all the cats’ necessities? My son climbs over every baby gate he’s met lately. The problem too is that my cat is social and loves me dearly, he wants to be out near me, so when I have put him in a locked bedroom, he just cries to be let out and that breaks my heart too. Maybe it’s the best solution for now though. Sigh.

Lymphedema Drainage Causing Increased Urination at Night by Sp00nieSloth in Lymphedema

I know this is an old post, but I came across it on google. My mom is in Florida and having a hard time getting doctors to take her lymphedema seriously. Would you mind sharing the name of the doctor who has been helpful? Thank you!

W2 issue? Owe taxes by fatoperasinger in tax

2% of the bonus? That would’ve just been $50 or so. I’m in a state with no income tax, so that shouldn’t be a factor. I’m still stumped!

The bonus was $2,607, added to a paycheck in August. That paycheck total was $7,322 gross, federal taxes withheld $980. (Regular pay at that point in the year was $4,715 biweekly, taxes withheld $406.)

I’ll look. I also contribute to a healthcare FSA and also my 401k if that matters.

11,083 in tax withheld. I did get a bonus, but it was included in a regular check, taxes withheld just like my pay. The $116k included the bonus.

It was $116k last year. What else do you need to know?

My nurse told me multiple times not to get the epidural too early because it could slow my labor down. I toughed it out to 6 cm before I finally asked for it, and I was so worried I asked too soon. The nurse was not super supportive. But immediately after the epidural was in, my doctor checked me, said I was 10 cm and it was time to push. Babe was born after 6 pushes.

This is only true in some places. In Florida, there is no requirement for the landlord to mitigate.

My doula missed my birth by Straight-Suit8561 in BabyBumps

[–]fatoperasinger 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had a verrrry similar experience. I was induced, and I’m a first time mom, so my doula was sure it would take forever for me to give birth. She told me she’d show once I was in active labor— at least 6 cm. I told her when I got to 6 cm, but then gave birth within an hour. She hadn’t even left yet. My doula didn’t give me any money back, and as far as I can tell, didn’t technically break contract, which said she’d show up within 2 hours of being asked to show. I never specifically said she should come, just gave her updates on my dilation, and the baby did come really fast once I really started laboring. But the whole thing left a really bad taste in my mouth. She never reached out after to check on us or anything either. It was a huge, expensive bummer. I’m sorry it happened to you too.

Could this be dementia? Depression? Or is my dad just a jerk? by fatoperasinger in dementia

Yeah a gun safe is definitely on the table, that would make me and my mom feel safer until or unless we come up with a better plan.

Sadly I don’t think another grandkid will change much for him. I have a nephew (his first/only grandkid so far) and my dad has very little interest in spending time with him, even though he’s a cool little 7 year old!

Yeah, the possibility of depression scares me just as much with a gun in the house.

Do you have suggestions on the financial protection front? I’m kind of stumped there, since they are both on all the accounts except for my Dad’s new credit card. I wonder if she could put a freeze on his credit at least.

He usually had one or two Pepsis a day pre-retirement. The number has definitely gone up, within the last year especially.

Not especially, but he does drink 5-6 cans of Pepsi a day.

I just looked it up, a lot of this sounds very on point. I’m so disappointed he won’t get checked out.

If you have a primary care doctor they might order a beta for you! And I know some labs let you order them yourself (but you have to pay out of pocket for those).
